Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

And y'all saying she's a ***** must be misogynists.

See? I can make up broad generalizations without thinking critically.

I don't like Skylar.

I'm just making the case that the extreme Skylar hatred is ridiculous

FTR, I don't hate Skylar like others do, she has annoyed me at times but that about it. I just see the worth in killing her character for the story and see reasons for why she could and should die in the story. Not these viewers judging the characters based on their morals of what's right and wrong reasons but object story telling reasons. I'm defintiely not on some Walt's endangered his family due his selfishness and ego, he's the bad guy so he should die. I'm not applying the how should ppl react to this situation type of thinking cuz it's not realistic. The bad guy doesn't always die, sometimes they win. I'm pretty sure I was posting how tired I am of dudes irrational hate for her every ep as well. It's just now that we're coming to an end I think she gonna die.

I'd smash Anna Gunn in her Seinfeld days for sure.

Just got home from the Breaking Bad wrap party and I'm pretty sad at the moment. I'm so thankful for every moment. I love you all.

:frown:

Done filming I guess, but the rides almost over. Bittersweet.

For sure will be a bittersweet moment, but my body is ready

So far nothing has been posted and if/when that happens I'll update the thread but won't post a link or discuss it. And obviously any discussion won't happen in here.

Edit: I'll be a jerk and don't even discuss it with spoilers. People quote a spoiler and say "OMG I can't believe they'd kill him like that" and it's still more than people want to know.

All Gilligan has to do is leak some fake scripts if the real one is released. Then no one will know which is the real script and which is fake. Personally I think the show is going to end with Walter traveling back in time to the 60′s in order to prevent the Zombie Apocalypse. This will kick off his new AMC show “The Breaking Dead Men”.

I think one of the kids is going to die, just based on the extreme emphasis Skylar has been putting on protecting her family in the first part of the season.

And I think a lot of people are too much in love with the old Walt. He is dead and gone. Walt has turned into full-on Heisenberg. Remember when she showed him all that money? Walt could easily walk away and they'd be set for life (and the kids, and the kids' kids). He is turning into a scumbag and it's

just saw buyout (season 5, episode 6).
when walt refuses to buyout, you can tell that he has become a shade of who he was. when they are having dinner with pinkman, walt tells him that he has for the most part lost his family and that his empire is all he had left. i understand his reasoning of who he is.
i think walt will die. i have a hard time seeing any other out come but death. he will be freed from his obsession of the empire and skylar will not have to worry about being involved in the business. hurry up july.

She should die for story reasons really. This is Walt's story and journey and I feel her dying would play in to the conclusion of his journey and really make him face reality of what he's done. I don't see them killing the baby or the handicapped Walter Jr. so she's a prime target. I've already said how I think she would die but there's many options and one is Walt killing her but maybe you don't think he's crossed over that line yet.

She could die for hurting Walt, should she? That's up to Walt. Did not call her stunt far fetched and it was a stunt, not a suicide attempt. Real suicide attempts have the actual intent of taking one's own life. If you recall the episode she pulled that stunt for a reason. Do you remember? That ended up getting the kid's staying with Marie. If you seriously think Skylar jumping in the pool and not getting out after dinner in front of her husband, sister, and brother-in-law was a real suicide attempt there's a real disconnect with how we're understanding the narrative of the story, that entire season, and that episode.
I see your point and I somewhat agree. I think Jr. dying would be indicator to Walt that "you done ..... up now." Why not? Jr. and the baby would have been at death's door if Gus was still alive.

In regards to your 2nd paragraph, you're right.
Quote:
All you're doing now is just rationalizing what she's done trying to make it seem reasonable and less credible for why she should be killed. She did not kick Walt out cuz she thought she was protecting her family. Go back and watch the eps. She did that out of spite. She did that to hurt Walt. It was only until after she found out that she was on this protect her family from Walt talk. So maybe you're arguing from a different part in the story or something. She initially did not kick him out cuz she thought he was a danger to her family. She just left him. Walt tries to explain and she says she doesn't wan to know the truth and is to scared to want to know. It's only until later in S3 that Walt tells her.

Anyway this whole Skylar isn't that bad cuz she's trying to protect her family is bull **** anyway. Can't really play that card when she volunteers to launder the money her way and gets involved with a business she allegedly is scared might harm her family. She didn't do that under duress and Walt definitely didn't force her to. She forced her way in. Hell the only reason she even started thinking about danger to the family again is when Walt brought it up and told her things and the occasion or two he got ****** up. Walt basically tells her the deal when she tries to cry wolf again. If he goes to jail, she does too.
I agree. Skyler kicking Walt out wasn't done to protect her familia, but it wasn't done out of spite.

She kicked him out for not being straight with her. The only thing she has done to hurt Walt was to have sex with Ted and tell him that to his face.

Skyler isn't that bad when compared to Walt. Skyler is bad if you're comparing her to an average wife such as Marie. If you recall, she talked to that divorce lawyer and she basically said that it's going to end badly, if she stays with walt. She didn't want to break Jr.'s heart, which is why I think that she chose to help Walt. Walt already told her that he was in too deep to be able quit. Her only viable option to not turn her life upside down was to help Walt.

How did she force her way in?

False, Skyler first thought about protecting her famila when she spoke with the divorce lawyer.

She didn't go through with the divorce because she thought that doing that would protect her familia.
