Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

If it's done right, it could easily be better than both... all the seasons have been just as good if not better than each of those respective series. (IMO anyways)

When I saw Giancaro Esposito in Fresh I was like :wow:,
then after that I saw him in King of New York :wow: , the dude has
so many different looks.

I read the supposed spoilers

Regarding the best drama ever, it's all about personal preference and what you like because there's no way to reach a definitive conclusion. The way Breaking Bad is going, someone can say it's the best drama of all time and I wouldn't dispute. But if someone else said The Sopranos or The Wire or even Mad Men, I could live with that too.

There is a Mount Rushmore of shows that belong in that discussion and at the very least, Breaking Bad has shown that it deserves to be up there.

Yea BB, Wire and Sopranos are top three I think...and one could replace the other at the top spot on any given day depending on how I'm feelin then....I think Boardwalk is almost gettin up there too...show is just filthy...anyway 19 hrs!!!

I've always wondered this, especially since The Wire is being mentioned in here, why wasn't there a wiretap on Jesse's phone or anyone else's, for that matter, at some point? Walt, Jesse and most of the people they're involved with are reckless on the phone. You'd think a wire would be a given, right? It's not like they were cautious, like Stringer was. I feel like they would've been caught up, easily. Ionno.

I like Game Of Thrones and The Shield better than Boardwalk.

And I probably would pick Rome and Deadwood over Boardwalk also.

The Wire might forever be in a separate category because it's about EVERYTHING. It's about drugs and crime, education, the media, politics, no show can compare to the subject matter.

Breaking Bad compares better with The Sopranos. Breaking Bad will likely end with less "ok" episodes than The Sopranos. For me, Breaking Bad hasn't really hit any weak stretches, whereas The Sopranos definitely hit some iffy patches here and there.

Boardwalk won't ever reach the elite status unless it drastically improves. I love Boardwalk but it's not touching the greatest of all-time.

This is true. For Boardwalk fans I think that show got weak a long time ago. Especially when they killed Jimmy, he could have had 1-2 more good seasons. Well maybe I'm biased I stopped watching shortly after they killed jimmy.

I just wanna see Walt go out like a G with a big *** gun.

i don't think i'll put breaking bad number one over the wire. the wire had too many characters that you actually cared about and the show covered a whole culture/city. breaking bad is about a story of one man (but what a hell of a story). I can definitely see breaking bad jump over the sopranos as my number two show of all time.

edit: of course this can all change if the last 8 episodes are all insanely god-like.

What amazes me the most is that season 5 so far has a 99 out of 100 rating on metacritic. Not that I care about critics, but that's amazing.

Esposito in Fresh :pimp: :pimp:

Fresh in general :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:
THIS MAN KNOWS

"Now what kind of player am I?" :smokin

Smart thing to bring up. Seems only time wire taps were used was when it was Mike doing it for Gus  Cops did more staking out and tailing guys than anything else.

When Walt was reckless on his home phone he was never suspected. Actually he's never been suspected so he wouldn't get it but Jesse wasn't simply cuz he was never pegged as a guy with any connections to a big time drug lord or cartel and when Hank tried to get to him, Saul stopped him, and then Hank took it too far which caused the case to close. Plus after a while they were all using burner phones anyway

Gus was painted as prepared for almost anything and was insanely cautious so he couldn't be tapped especially with his close ties to the police department in the area. Plus I think he has/had a guy in the police that's dirty.

Only obvious guy left is Tuco but maybe he wasn't that high up the food chain to get the attention.

We'll possibly see wire taps this half of the season though although to me that'd be a bit disappointing leading to Walt's downfall.

Nice theory. I swear do guys like Vince think up all these detailed hints and symbolism that specific?

I'd add Walt adopted a lot more traits from Gus. His entire Heisnberg began to mirror Gus' boss moves more and more. Of course I don't think Walt saw many of Gus' boss moves, just a few so he's more so following his lead and copying his mannerisms.

However, it'd be surreal if he suddenly put on a rain coat and slit Skyler's throat with a box cutter in front of Hank and Marie without any notice and then just walked away

Well all of them are constantly crushing phones, so it wouldn't help much I guess

Damn.. that's crazy!

I just noticed that the opening scene of season 5 might hold another clue..

After Walt makes the transaction in the Denny's bathroom and the guy leaves the bathroom, the song playing in the background has the singer singing "She was greedy."

Nice catch metiQlous! Just went back to look for that one and you're right. :smokin

Off topic though, but I went out on a date with a girl who had the meanest looking eyebrows today. She was cute though, so I went in for a kiss in hopes of it leading to some yambs, but she hit me with the cheek. :smh: This was all I could think about on my way back home... haha
