Breaking Bad Thread - "El Camino" - A Breaking Bad Movie on Netflix 10/11

It is weird that Gus didn't have at least one person in the DEA on his payroll.

Nah Gus is done. If they were going to do something like that, they would've done it in the first half of season 5...it's too late to bring up something like that. As for Gomez being ANYTHING more than a secondary character in these last 4 episodes, I doubt it. Just because you're on screen doesn't mean you have to have some major role in the plot. I'm pretty sure the "DEA leak" was nothing more than one of Mike's guys who worked in or around the DEA and served as his ears. He probably had no idea what was going on other than reporting to Mike any news.
From what we've seen on the show, none of Mike's guys were cops and none of them were in the DEA in NM. Keep in mind Mike was bugging Hanks' office. If Mike was the one that had inside guys this story would be very different.

I'm pretty sure dude was reporting to Gus. Not everything was going through Mike.

just came in here to say jessie broke my heart last night. :smh:

when jesse gave his 'confession' last night, we only saw the first minute of it. as the audience, we don't know what information the full confession video contains.

We kinda do. Hank was talking to Gomie about it. Running over drug dealers, the pest company as a cover to cook meth, etc. Pretty much everything I think.

this is the worst direction the show could have taken.

my jimmers are so rustled i cant even

JESSES MY MAN I HATE IT HAD TO BE HIM

Hank and Gomie went over what Jesse told them on the balcony, which was basically everything from the RV to Drew Sharp.
as a synopsis. we don't know what the entirety of the confession contains.

saw this on reddit
Jesse is Walt's apprentice, his best student, his legacy. When he first started working with him, Jesse was a stupid meth cook burnout named Captain Cook. Over time, he became the second best meth cook around and at times the only person in the world Walter could trust.

Though it wasn't the life he originally planned, Walter spent years as a teacher. Yeah, he was a husband and a dad, but sharing his knowledge of chemistry was his calling. Look at his various teaching moments throughout the show (with Tuco when Heisenberg was born, with Todd, even with Skylar or Lydia or Saul, etc). Jesse watched, thrilled, as Walter taught him the science of meth and as they became bigger criminals and as Walter developed into a meth kingpin.

With Walter's tutelage, Jesse truly did become a master cook in his own right. Jesse could replicate the 99%, while Todd only managed in the 70s, and even Gayle only managed 96% on his own before meeting Walter. When Jesse would have issues and risk dying/leaving, Walt stepped in, even if the risk to himself was minimal. Walter wanted Jesse to stay in the business much like a father wants his son to take up the family trade after he retires.

Jesse is the living record of Walt's transformation into Heisenberg, a testament to all the achievements, the danger, the sacrifice. He's been his best friend. He was there in the RV, which they reminisced about when Walter brought him the $5 mil. Together, they evaded crazy dealers, DEA agents, cartel assassins, and anyone else who came after them. He was his partner and student and friend. They literally killed for each other, and when he had to betray Jesse, when he used him, he did it as much because he needed to keep Jesse around/alive/on his side as he did it to save his own skin.

Yes, he always condescended a little and manipulated Jesse, but he also always made sure Jesse was okay. He worried about him. Whether just to preserve his own legacy or because he cared about him, it's hard to say. Think about it, though. Walter can't tell his own son about his day, but he can tell Jesse. Ultimately, Jesse is proof that Walter is a genius and not just some petty criminal, living witness to his rise and embodiment of his teaching.

tl;dr Jesse is Heisenberg's son.

I wonder what Jesse has up his sleeve. He has to know right now that Hank or Walt don't care if he lives or dies as long as he serves his purpose (disappear for Walt, snitch for Hank). Is there a piece of evidence out there that I'm not remembering?

To add to my initial point that Jesse will "get Walt where he really lives" is about the drug side of things. Not trying to expose Walt because he would eventually be exposed if they arrested him... but for Jesse to start cooking again and maybe claim that he's the real Heisenberg. Jesse cooks the blue meth, word gets out that he's Heisenberg and Walt's ego can't take it and gets back into the game.

Because unless they get a confession from Walt, there's no evidence linking him to being Heisenberg other than having that book (which Hank illegally stole and even then it's not proof at all) and Jesse, who wouldn't be very reliable in court. So in order to really get Walt, they'd need to catch him in the act, and the only way you do that is for him to start cooking again. And maybe having Jesse out there claiming to be Heisenberg and taking credit for Walt's creation and formula.. well maybe that's too big of a hit to Walt's ego.

Hank is becoming a "criminal." I don't mind that.

I like Jesse now and him being Walt's adversary is entertaining.

Tell me why Walt Jr. gave Walt the same hug Walt gave Jesse in last week's ep?

No more cheerful cooking scenes.

DO NOT POST IN HERE WHEN YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOST RECENT EPISODE.

"Spoilers" will be had.

That plan works Big J as long as Walt doesn't figure out Hank and Jesse working together.

Plus the way I see it Jesse would have to do that quick cuz Walt's gonna have him killed.

Only conflict is if he goes back to Lydia tells her he'll cook for them and works with Todd so his uncles won't kill him.
