I had really high expectations for the Kobe VII which turned out to be less of a fan favorite...at least we got herringbone
Personally I liked the VII, it had its faults but the elite made up for all of that with full length zoom and that scale pattern on the upper was much more forgiving than the pattern on the regular 7.
I can't wait for the VIII but at the same time I'm trying not to have such high expectations

Shouldn't we have high expectations the when Jordan was in his prime his shoes were performance beasts... the Kobe 4-6 was the same... its really sad when we have to dial down expectations....shouldn't nike trying to blow away our high expectations? Not just meet our low expectations?

I think the Kobe V/VI/VII all looked very similar from the basic design, maybe they will have a new design style again, just like with the first Kobes!

Doubtful my man. Look at the LBJ X and KD V - both of them are uninspired, cookie-cutter Hyperfuse joints. Very high chance of KB VIII to be a 'low' version of the former.
