Saw Pro Era in concert on 4/20. Well really Joey Badass but CJ Fly, Kirk Knight, and Nyck Caution all had little opening sets. I gotta say Nyck Caution was the best. And that's without even knowing the songs he was doing. I only really knew CJs stuff because I listened to his tape a few times. I enjoyed them all. I agree they're no Joey or Steez but they'll be worth a listen when their tapes drop.

Joey's taking too long with this album.

Also, wasn't there supposed to be a Pro Era tape coming sometime soon?
 
^I hear you on that and I want him to drop a gem too because I believe he is capable of doing that. However, I am definitely ready and feel it is time for his album this fall....been anticipating it for a minute now.

Hopefully this new PE EP is solid and better than the Secc$ tape which was completely unforgettable.

Flatbush, did that Secc$ tape 2 drop? If it did, I completely missed it :nerd:
 
^Yeah man outside of Sol Luna which was a very nice track with a ATCQ throwback feel there isn't really anything off that worth playing again.

To the person that asked Joey doesn't have a release date yet but he had said it would dropping Fall 2014.

Listened to The Shift EP earlier and I understand that this was a project they were doing without any samples but the sound just didn't fit Pro Era at all. I found the tape underwhelming.....maybe even more so than the Seccs Tape 2. I honestly have no desire to listen to anything on this project again.

Kinda agree with you. I had no idea what I was listening to. Didn't fit PE at all. Sometimes branching out is good when done right, this however, was not.
 
^Yeah man I want them to branch out and expand their sound as artists but this just wasn't good. The entire project felt uninspired and forced. I really like Joey and Pro Era but they are starting to lose some steam.
 
I dig the snippet....I just hope Joey doesn't use too much off the gruff sounding vocals he has gone to a lot lately on his album.
