Air Jordan XX8 aka 2013, new "Proplate Zoom" Technology OFFICIAL THREAD.

I agree with Magic1978 about new talent wearing the current performance shoe. It says a lot to me as a consumer that professionals would choose styling and less comfort(regardless of different insoles) over a product that has new technology that is supposed to help further your experience and career. So is it the styling alone,or is the technology not worth even the pros buying into? But they want us to.

I'm ready to see more of them. I'm ready for the Air Jordan to be the pinnacle of shoes. I'm ready for the Air Jordan line to have the best and latest technology. I know this is wishful thinking, but I hope proplate zoom is not a gimmick and is something that makes a difference.

but they still need some young and rising talent the way they used to have with Derek Anderson's and Darius Miles' to promote the line. You have players wearing Jordan's, but retros, which for the life of me I don't understand. Yeah they might look better from a far, but you'd rather wear a pair of X's or IV's than 2012's? If basketball was my career, and your feet, ankles and legs are essential to your livelihood there's no way I'd risk it on 10 and 20 year old technology in half *** retros.

JB also needs to put out the PEs for retail. People would definitely jump on retro PEs and with current model PEs (ie 2012), it would probably help get more shoes on peoples feet. Once they see how comfy they are, would bring them back for the other GR colorways.

I wish JB can stop it with the whole AJ 2000 line, they have always been ugly and way overpriced and no one likes them.

They are performance based, so they are kinda just like any other team Jordan just they wanted to keep the signature series going. And Jordan 24, 25, 26, etc sounds terrible

I liked the 2010s and 2011s but then 2012 came and I was like :x

this is a good thinking. it would work.

They got hybrids/fusions dropping as 'Penny V' now. In their defense, the '09, '10, '11, '12 are ORIGINAL shoes so from a purely design and engineering perspective these shoes could've gotten away with the numbering system.

cant nike/jordan take the materials for this garbage and the rest of the team jordan line up and make more retros that people want

between everyone who wants jordans
more then ever each shoe would be a bigger sellout

Not really. Team Jordan's are great for ballin and straight beating up. In other words to be worn like a shoe and now a piece of gold. And off all Jordan brand did was make retros the would have to make 5x as many retros a year to make up for the lost profit from team Jordans that are no longer produced. And if all they did was make a bunch of retros each year it would get boring within 10 years because colorways would be repeated 3 times every few years.

Seriously though, I find it comical that they're still doin this yearly signature. Shoulda stopped at 23. Shoulda never started naming them after the year. All they'll do is sit unless some clowns actually bite on the new gimmicky 'performance' concept.

This.

The Proplate Zoom technology made me think about the Carbon Comfort Control Plate that was in the Air Jordan 18's. It was an orthotic that was built in to help with comfort and helps "prevent fallen arches and provides stability and support." This is according to the Driver Manual that came with the shoes.

I hope they're better than 18's. I hooped in 18's and I felt like I was playing in hollowed out bricks lol

I won't be in a rush to get em, but I'm sure I'll get a pair to play in once they go on sale.

LOVE the quality/build/materials/packaging of the Sig shoes.

2011 was the last solid non-numbered AJ. 8)

The tech on these will be ridiculous but not enough to make me want to open up my wallet.

There stupid if they think this is going to help them sell more shoes, if anything they'll sale less shoes.

Actually I like the 2011 and 2012 a lot. Way better than the 2009 and 2010.
I'm looking forward to see the final product of the 2013.
And to be honest....if MJ would still rock in the NBA with those, you all
end up buying anyway.
I remember how many people flamed at the XI and XIII during the original release
and ended up buying them eventually.

9/10 this will be pure crap ridiculously priced .....hopefully im wrong
fixed

the 2012 deluxe pack is definitely high quality performance footwear that was an upgrade to 2011, if 2013 follows suit, this will be a performance beast but probably 250+ which will be whack, i dont want or need the internet integration system

It's going to be a great performance shoe, for high school and college. But I doubt there will be any appealing features for the average joes.
