Nike+ shoes and that annoying squeaking from the plastic piece?

I can't be the only one annoyed by this..

I was kinda late to the game on shoes with the Nike+ technology, it never really interested me and it wasn't featured in any of the shoes I bought.

Until I got a pair of Free Run 2's last year.. then Huarauche Frees.. and now a pair of Free Run 3's.

And they've all had one common issue. The left shoe, where the little plastic bed is for the Nike+ piece, constantly makes an annoying squeaking noise every step I take. Sometimes it's worse than other times, but the point is it's annoying to hear the plastic creak around with every step.

So my question is, is there any solution to this? Can that plastic piece be safely removed if I don't intend on using the Nike+ stuff? I just want to wear the shoes without them being so noisy

The plastic piece  in the sole squeaks because there is a compression piece that flexes and keeps the Nike+ in there.  Take a flat object and the inner plastic piece will pop out.  Re-insert the foam filler and place the insole back in again.  Without two pieces of plastic rubbing against one another, the squeak will likely disappear.

Thanks for this cause I had that problem also. I'll try that and see if it works with my nike+ shoes
