Official Louie Season 3 Thread ~ S03E13 - New Year's Eve

Just marathoned all of season 4 (been stuck on GoT and the NBA playoffs lately)

Man, this guy is just genius :smh:

The Pamela thing was out of left field, I'm glad I didn't have a girl with me when I was watching because I have no idea how a chick would react to that. Will be interesting to see where he goes with it

It's free on FX.com (if you have a cable subscription) or just google "watch louie season 4" and you'll find some links

Damn, the season finale was probably the worst episode of Louie I ever watched, especially after it came after "In the Woods" which was the best episode of Louie ever. Not a fan of these Pamela episodes at all, she really drags this show down.

I like Pamela....thought it was a good ep. Feels like Louie's finding a middle road between this more serious season and the funnier previous seasons.

You think so? I love Pamela.
IDK what it is about her, it's just usually the episodes that involve her are a drag. Louie just looks and feels so miserable when she's on screen but maybe that's the point?

The first episode was great with the museum but the second one was just god awful. I can't even remember what happened, it was just so boring.

BTW, the conversation with him and Mark Maron is role reversal. It was actually Mark that was the crappy friend. Heard it on a podcast where they had a pretty intense talk for over a hour.

So basically you don't like the episodes because she's always giving Louie a hard time and making him the female in the relationship

Pamela bringing up Janet being black  :smokin

I prefer the show with less continuity.

Finale was dope to me...
There are alot of people like "Pamela" out there that don't know how to show affection in the general sense(read it all the time on NT ,lol) because they have been hurt so many times so they use humor as a defensive mechanism.
It's the average joe love story and that's why the season was hella strong to me...
Especially the doctors views on life which a lot of nters need to take stock in..
Lol..

Below average Joe love story

The doctor was the MVP of the season best character to appear on any season.

I prefer the show with less continuity.
Her character was better on the earlier seasons, she was funny, snarky but not a total biatch. This season she's relentlessly abusive to Louie for no reason at all. She doesn't love him, doesn't want to be his girlfriend, irresponsible with his kids and has no intention of moving in yet she empties out his place for no reason at all. It's just a stupid story line because it makes Louie a boring character because he's so depressed and because of that I can't imagine anyone rooting for them to get together.

Overall, besides the lackluster finale, this season has been excellent. The highlight for me was definitely "In the Woods".

I think Louie exaggerates how bad he is with women for the show, the Pamela character is supposed to play off that

Great finale imo

I've really become attracted to Pamela cuz of this show and Californication

This is the type of show where I can just enjoy white ppl relationships and not get too cynical about it. Just two weird quirky characters, it's definitely an enhanced experience if you watched the two of them on Louie's HBO show. It's like there's already history.

When Maron showed up  I got a good chuckle out of him friend shaming Louie cuz of his success. Made me wish I was watching more of his show too.

When they went to that weird art gallery. The piece screaming the n-word (and I'm pretty sure that was Louie's voice) The one video with the black guy opening his mouth and then the guy walking up to it and once Louie leaves it's his face. The Holocaust and slavery lynching imagery. All gave me a chuckle.

This whole season had a surreal feel to it, more eps than not, similar to the whole late night talk show David Letterman eps. The storm, LeBron James and everybody in Florida dying  That weird fat guy in his underwear walking down the block when Louie went to get his kids and ex-wife.

That hr+ ep going back to Louie's past was excellent. Great story. I posted in another thread how much I liked it and Jeremy Renner's performance

Leaving the daughter on the train right after saying the subway rules, the Doctor and this advice, banging the foreign chick and that whole relationship. The Seinfeld ep where he hits the **** out of that fine blond that was on Chuck and Dexter  I aint laughed so hard in forever when he socked her cuz she tickled him. So wild.

They took a lot of risks this season and I gotta say I loved it.

Damn, I didn't pick up any of that. There was definitely push back on her part, but I read that as someone who wasn't well equipped emotionally...like mugen said. It's a defense mechanism. I can't see any way that she doesn't have feelings for him...just incapable, at this point, of expressing them as he'd like her to. The kids like her and she makes him happy. Louie was boring to begin with, if anything she adds some excitement. In any case, should be interesting to see where it goes.

^ forgot about him popping that chick in bed. His reaction when she was doing it... serious ****.

Thought that garbage man scene was great :smokin.

Pamela reminds me of this one chick man. Everytime i thought i had a shot she would just curve the **** out of me. Like i wasnt even in the friendzone since we were doing naughty things but i wanted to wife and she just said kept deading me lmaoo

The worst

 yup. But I liked it, she showed a rare vulnerability to Louie and said oh let doet. Time just wasn't right. Women like that never disappear though, always popping back up.

I forgot to mention I loved how Pamela asked about Louie's ex and if she's really their kids mother   I laughed so hard when she suggested they might've been kidnapped. All Louie saying is her mom's white like that explains it all

That had me wondering once they introduced the black ex-wife. Had me thinking this is the case in Louie's real life (which it might be :nerd: )

In the hospital, Louie's face when he said "I didn't come."

Is that how yall make fried chicken? I know margarine is just oil but I've never seen that done.

The way he made fried chicken, I do it the same but use a buttermilk instead of eggs.
It binds the coating better, fries it more evenly and encapsulates the moisture better for a juicer chicken..
