Official Jurassic World Thread | Jurassic World: Dominion 6/10/22

looks interesting. Jaws being eaten by that ness looking dino was :x :wow:

Hope the mystery dino isn't Bosh. Sorry I had to.

Tamed dinosaurs doesnt bother me. I mean, they are in pretty much a zoo.

It's the genetic dinosaur. Real life dinosaurs out there like king of gore and you come up with crap like that? Still dont know what the genetic dinosaur is or the story so I'll hold judgement.. But if it's out there like Predator/Alien....

And out of all the dinosaurs to mix breeds with to create a new dinosaur they chose a t-rex? Lets start off with the most dangerous one, just to start off. How does that seem like a good idea? I get that it makes sense for the movie's plot but damn.

Trailer looks good. I thought they were going to have the dinosaurs covered in feathers since the recent discoveries. But if imhotep and Hermes can be white I guess dinosaurs can be without feathers.

So, you're bothered by the idea of creating a new dinosaur in a lab, but still totally cool with the premise of the original story? Which is, you know, creating dinosaurs in a lab lol. Of all the criticisms to have, this is flat-out the weakest one. This is really just the evolution of the original concept. Hell, the idea of tamed dinosaurs is more preposterous at this point than creating a new species in a lab lol.

Now, whether or not it's executed well is another story.

Huh? Part 1 had dinsoaurs that existed. This is a made up one. Thought my king of gore example was pretty obvious what I meant.

And yes. Tamed dinosaurs is preposterous yet we have lions, gorillas, aligators, and tigers in zoos right now lol

It's the genetic dinosaur.
All the dinosaurs were "genetic", remember they were designed to be female, and less aggressive, but they used amphibian and reptile DNA. Biology 101, some amphibians and reptiles can change sex at will to produce offspring.

...So all the dinosaurs on the park are "genetic", or what I believe you meant to say genetically engineered. But just like Malcolm said in the first film, you can not contain evolution.

I'm calling it now, the hybrid will be the "ultimate" Dinosaur mix.. probably gonna be a huge bad*ss T-Rex, but with the horns of Triceratops and some kind of super tough armour like Ankylosaurus :nerd:

I can see it now.......Jurassic Universe is going to be like Dinosaucers.

True. I guess technically it's still the same thing as part 1. Word is they made one up for patent reasons.

I feel what you're saying though, I don't want the Alien vs Predator feel it neither. I just want a sound explanation for their splicing or the movie will probably suck.

They've already gone the real "bigger, badder" dino route in the third one. Also, there was actually a moment of key dialogue in that movie, when they discover the Spinosaurus exists and Grant's assistant says "that one wasn't on the list", and Grant responds "it makes you wonder what else Hammond was up to". We never get to find out what Hammond was up to, but it hints that there were more nefarious things going on.

Also, remember what Malcolm said in the first one: "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."

Then, when Hammond first meets with Malcolm in the Lost World, he says something about learning from his mistakes and not doing the same thing again, and Malcolm says "no, you're creating all new ones".

Confidence and arrogance (or, hubris), is the common thread throughout the JP universe. The humans are doomed to repeat history because of it. They play god, and life finds a way (reproduction in the first movie, the animals continuing to flourish in the second and third). If genetic science has progressed in 20 years to the point they can create some new dino out of other dinos all in the name of attracting visitors, then they're going to do it. It makes sense because we've been there before. That's why this is essentially a remake of the first one, as it uses all the themes present in prior stories. And none of it is anymore preposterous than using friggin' frog DNA to complete the genetic code.

So is this years and years after things went bad or like an alternate universe?

Its the same universe at the first three. B.D. Wong (played a scientist in the first one), is in this.

And I'm excited about the film....even with the heavy usage of CG in this, but seeing "Jurassic World" entrance/gate in complete CG was off-putting imo. The original gate is too classic. I know the new one is way bigger, but Universal got resources, they could've made it happen

feeling like the hybrid dino is T-rex with longer arms and above average (bordering on Human) velociraptor intelligence.

Maybe it talks like Caesar

It's the first trailer for a movie that comes out more than six months from now. What more do you want lol. They probably haven't even finished post-production work on the movie.
