Obama is an idiot.  Romney is an idiot.  They are all morons.  Rest assured your life wouldn't change if you woke up and Donald Duck was elected President.  It don't matter.
This is how I feel now

. I don't even bother to vote; I feel like whole process is pointless.
But to the OP; it's not like you're paying money to have the right to vote so what does it matter if you "have" the right or not? Just don't vote.

I don't think there could be a worse day in the recent history of the USA to exhibit such privileged buffoonery. An estimated 32 million American lives were changed today because Obama was in office. For the better or worse will be up for politicized contention for time immemorial but change has occurred. Your as bad as Rush Limbaugh.  You're just an extremist on the other side.  My life didn't change a bit.

Also, you will note that its the Supreme Court that effected the change, not the President.  Like I said, Donald Duck could have proposed what Obama did.  He had a team of people put something together and all he did is sign off on it.  Its the Supreme Court that actually effects the changes Donald Duck's team tries to impose.  You don't vote for the Supreme Court, so I'm gonna continue to pass.  You keep beleiving you are changing the world.

I'd like it better if there were more than 2 candidates that had a shot of winning.

Agreed.
This. Its like people who used to make threads about them quiting facebook...just looking for attention. Like someone said you want a certificate or something? Just dont vote, end of.

There's a significant difference between having the option not to do something verses not having the right to do something. People died so that you could have this choice.
You don't want to vote for the candidates fine, but you should at least feel grateful that you have the option to choose to excercise this right

I'll give up the right to be plastered with political BS, if that's even an American right.

Obama Camp sent me hundreds of emails about why "we cannot rest -- the other guys are bad, we are good, therefore your votes go to good guys" before I unsubscribed myself. My gmail account feels healthier now.

Other side? How do you know what side I'm even on? I'm changing the world? What are you talking about? Let's just stick to the original points. In summary,

You don't think voting for the President matters because lives don't change.

I say that an estimated 32 million lives changed today because of the upholding of the ACA.

You say that, therefore, the President doesn't matter because the SC holds the ultimate power and of course your privileged life didn't change because the ACA doesn't seem to affect you.

Uh...

Who has the power to replace outgoing justices by appointment? The President! In just the past 60 years, have there been noticeable swings in the political tenor of the Court's decisions? Yes. Why? The ideological make-up of the court which is only altered through Presidential appointments.  You expect me to believe that McCain would have appointed pro-mandate judges such as Kagan and Sotomayor? Better yet, can you show me McCain's plan for universal healthcare legislation that would've been passed and then tried in the front of the Court? How can you say that the SC holds the power and then neglect that the President gets to almost always bend the court to his favor through appointment? I guarantee that if Romney wins, 2 or more justices will retire to let Romney restock the Court with younger conservatives. And he will because the Senate very rarely fails to confirm Presidential appointments. And yet, you have the audacity to say the President doesn't matter on a day like today.

To quote the late, great Frank Costello, "But what I'm saying is this. When you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference? " How do you think the fine people of Yemen or Somalia feel about Obama's election. I'm certain their lives have not been influenced positively. Will one party help them over the other? Who cares who holds power as long as the foreign policy is kill baby kill? I'm sure a rich college kid from the suburbs can appreciate the plight of those whose necks fall under our boots, but we're the privileged ones.

I hope to never be as cynical as some of you guys. It's depressing just reading the hurt, I can't imagine living it.

I used to dream of being a politician before I found out that politicians are dumb af.
Then I shifted my attentions to finance and have never looked back

Seriously, he lives in that MUST BE NICE version of America.

There are HUGE differences in how Romney would run America as opposed to Obama. Let's be +$$@%%# real here. Yes, a lot of policies would be the same, but MANY, MANY would be far different.

HOVKid gets to not worry about little things like healthcare because he already said (in summary) that it won't affect him in any way. That is the voice of the 1%

HOVKid has nothing in common with most of the NTers quoting him. That's what makes it funny.
