Will Nike continue the Kobe line after he retires?

He's probably got a couple more years left with the NBA, but he's obviously going to be retired well before Lebron and Durant, which leaves me wondering whether Nike will just do Lebron and KD or continue on with their big 3 with Kobe. What do you think?
 
I doubt the line will continue, maybe in retro form. I don't see Nike branching the Kobe line off as it's own brand.
 
I'd be shocked if they kept the line going after he retires. Probably get a couple retros here & there.
 
Can't wait for some of the retros they will surely release in the future. Same with Brons. Hopefully the materials will be somewhat nice still (doubtful). Some AZGs and Kobe V's will be insta-copped.

I doubt Nike will continue making new Kobe sigs after he retires, but I am certain they will retro his line. They might even make some hybrids like they did with the penny line, but I guess that depends on the popularity of the retros themselves.

As far as who will replace Kobe in the "Big Three" basketball sigs department, I don't think Nike really needs to have a "big Three". They might just elevate the hyperdunk to top tier status or just keep releasing elite versions like they did this year.
 
maybe they will keep it goin for the Chinese market, he's big over there, probably retro some kicks in the China colorways or whatever fits the themes.

As for the states, they'll just retro a few old colorways here and there

They'll keep making Kobe shoes til they stop selling, not til he stops playing.


And if they stop selling, they'll offset the losses against some other shoe instead.
 
Nope, probably elevate the next young, slam-dunk star to that status.

The reason why Rose didn't get signed by Nike right away? He wasn't a sure thing. But another phenom will come along.

Some people seem to forget how popular Kobe's are overseas in places like China. He's like a God over there.

I know for a fact Nike will give him at least 3 more models which should be about the amount of years left he has in the league. I'd say two more years as a superstar and then one last one after that.

I just hope if Nike doesn't continue the line he can take the logo with him because there will def. be Chinese brands that would want to continue the Kobe line with his logo.

*But to contribute to the actual thread, I'm sure they'll retro his shoes, as previously mentioned, Nike will pretty much retro everything.
