Now that he's won a ring, did Lebron make the right choice in leaving the Cavs for MIA?

Just want get people's take on "the decision" now that he's accomplished his intended goal when moving to Miami. Obviously its a good choice because he won a ring, but was it the right one? Would you rather have seen him try to win at least one in Cleveland or try for multiple in Miami? Or a different team without another superstar but better role players?
ruined legacy? or refined?
whats your take on things?

Le sigh

Changing teams wasn't the "wrong" choice, having The Decision special was.

I never bought the narrative that Lebron was doing things the easy way by going to Miami. You can only ask a superstar to do it on their own for so long, if the FO wasn't getting it done, do it yourself.

I would have been fine with it if he went to NY, so I'm cool with it (despite not liking the Heat).

I think most wanted to see him win one in Cleveland.

Agreed, but people need to get the $*@* over it already.

How is this debatable?

Yes.

x infinity

7 years w/ CLE, his legacy was 'one of the most gifted talents the league has ever seen, but still in the company of all the other championshipless talents; sure, he's better than most of them, hell, all of them, but that's the table he sits at'

2 years w/ MIA, and his legacy... if it stopped RIGHT NOW... is one word: 'champion'.THAT'S the table he sits at now. You could add more words to narrow down the company he keeps; 'champion... Finals MVP... scoring champion... #1 pick... triple-double in the Finals', etc..., but that first word 'champion' absolutely makes t so that he made the right decision. He is NOT a champion right now if he stayed w/ the Cavs. No way, no how, wasn't happening.

Everyone acts like "The Decision" was Lebrons idea.  Dudes straight clownin if they think the NBA, ESPN and the Media didnt love every second of it.  NBA profited and Lebron took all the blame.  All of it.

Let's say he only wins one in MIA, is it a failure?

Let's say he wins one with cleveland, is it a success?

I feel as if he made it even tougher for him moving to MIA, but he got what he wanted so I don't blame him. It's just I think it would've been a better story had he won just one in CLE then do whatever he wanted after.

This is the part I'm going to hate arguing when it comes to Lebron: Chris Bosh, a superstar?!

It's a power duo... and Chris Bosh. Dude is nice, but wasn't a superstar before MIA.

Big 3? Meh, I can buy it. Kind of just gets tossed around because of Ray/Kevin/Paul and Kobe/Bynum/Pau, so whatever.

But Chris Bosh the superstar? Yeahno. Bron had another superstar (singular, not plural), just like all the rest of our beloved phenoms.

I mean Chris Bosh was an all star his last 5 years in Toronto, was an Olympian, and averaged at least 22 and 10 those seasons.

Is that not superstar criteria?

If not, was it because his team was not winning? If that is the case, is Kevin Love not a superstar?

Just asking.

Chris Bosh is a superstar now? Everytime his name gets brought up by Heat fans, everyone always says he sucks, he's soft, he's not even a top 10 forward, etc. And Wade played terribly throughout the entire season and playoffs.

it was right then, and it's right now. im glad he did it this early in his career

so yes

"Loyalty is something that hurts you at times, because you can't get youth back. I can honestly say that if I could go back and do my situation over, knowing what I know now with this organization, I'd have done it a little sooner."    -Kevin Garnett

I meant Heat fans praise Bosh, but other fans say he's not that great

That whole with other superstars argument is hogwash. How many hall of famers did Larry Bird play with? What about the Celtics Big 3? Is the only difference whether or not the F.O does it or the players uses free agency to decide their own destiny?

When bosh was out everybody was making excuses for the losses to the pacers and celts. Just in case it happened.

saw people saying well bosh isn't playing obviously lebron cant be blamed for losing.

He comes back and Garnett disapears in both games. Bosh won game 7 of the ECF. But now he isn't a superstar? He's an Olympian and woukd get a max contract on any other team.
