The Ultimate Soccer Thread 2012-2013 Vol. 3 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc

Borussia Dortmund's Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, 23, has opened the door on a move to Manchester United by revealing he wants to play in the Premier League. :pimp:

Chelsea have reopened talks with Marseille over Spanish right-back Cesar Azpilicueta, 22, who would cost £7m.

Sir Alex Ferguson has told friends that Manchester United will beat City and Juventus in the race to sign Arsenal captain Robin van Persie in a £20m deal.

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll wants his future resolved in the next week. The England international, 23, has been linked with Newcastle, Fulham and Aston Villa.

Liverpool have been told they must pay £10m if they want to sign Fulham striker Clint Dempsey.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both monitoring Barcelona forward Ibrahim Afellay after the Dutchman, 26, was told he would only have a peripheral role under new manager Tito Vilanova.

Fulham have opened talks with French side Evian to sign Ivory Coast striker Yannick Sagbo, 24, who would cost around £3.5m. Manager Martin Jol has also considered Huddersfield's Jordan Rhodes and Juventus veteran Vincenzo Iaquinta, 32.

Arsenal have been told to increase their offer for French prospect M'Baye Niang, 17, after having a bid rejected by Caen

Ew, no, keep RVP away from Utd. I doubt Wenger would even sell the striker to them. Man City's a more plausible landing spot. But still hoping he ends up at Juve.

Wait, Ledley King has retired!?  Haven't been following closely, but has he been injured a lot?

He's been struggling with his knees for 5-6 years. Extremely sad news.. but this day was always coming.

If it wasn't for his injuries.. he would have definitely been THE best centre back in the Premier League. Long live the King !! :frown:

can't believe Ledley King has been with Spurs for 17 years...

anyway,i watched the highlights of Utd's pre-season and seemed like Kiko Macheda's been putting on some weight during the off-season...
also seemed like Berba's playing just behind the forwards...a new position for him next season perhaps?

Now that Ibra & Thiago are officially gone. Any rumors of who will be filling Ibra's spot.
I have read somewhere about bum Tevez being rumored but me personally would not like him in Milan.

I have a feeling Neymar is going to go crazy in the olympics. This is his time to show the world why he's regarded as the next great superstar

My dude haha :pimp:

Signing up for the fantasy league later 8) Hopefully I wont have to make another Arsenal-esque run at the end of the year to make the playoffs. So close to winning it all :smh:

Carlos Vela officially signed with Real Sociedad. Will always remember some of the goals he scored in the Cups

He just wasn't built for the English league, Spain will suit his style well. Santos at Spurs should make a similar move as well instead of wasting his talents on the reserves.

Looking at a couple minutes of this United game...you guys still hate the Tartan print after seeing it on the field?

I don't see Wenger doing that, it would be a dagger in the chest tho. Hopefully it can happen before the season starts. Even AC is a possibility but I don't think they have been linked yet, officially.
Dude has ruined his legacy, even if he stays it will be tarnished.
If we sell him and some of the other plays we're looking to sell. We can make at least 2 solid purchases. Llorente and Afellay were the most recent players that we've been "linked" to.

Once RVP leaves Arsenal is gonna struggle for that CL spot...

You would think the Podolski signing would soften that impact in terms of big name players coming aboard, but he was disappointing in the Euro.

Giroud is going to make the bigger impact I would imagine. Podolski's club record has never been too consistent.

You knew the day was coming when Ledley would have to hang up the boots, now it is time for him to groom Caulker.

I still don't understand if Arsenal can be assured that RVP will play and go all out this season, they have a squad to make a title challenge and qualify for the CL next season. That would get them more money than a last minute fee, unless Man C is going to give a massive fee like they did for Nasri.
