Can anyone shed some light on the Sahin deal? Wasn't he on loan to LFC and still owned by Real?

Yup, he still is owned by Madrid, he's on loan at BVB.

The F?

Guess it's true what they say. Dortmund players are only good at Dortmund. They feed off each other and make each other look good, if not better then what they really are. Take them away from that and they will not be as impressive.

It takes some time to get adjusted to the PL. Hopefully he improves, would be a shame if he didn't. I know last game, it was odd that SAF didn't play him behind the striker but deeper

As for Dortmund players only being good at Dortmund....um Rosicky :D and Eisfeld if you want to count him. It's early though, plus he was in the reserves

Lucas looked great. Unfortunately he got a cramp from putting in work, good debut for him. People were on twitter claiming that Ibra wasn't giving his 100% because of Lucas. The positive attention he was getting and how much he was feed the ball

Going to make sure i watch the Man U vs LFC game from the beginning. I'm always missing these damn handshakes.

Kagawa hasn't been that impressive, imo.

I would disgaree with that. When he wasn't injured in the beginning of the season, even during his early adjustment period, his first touch was class. His vision was fantastic. He's consistently finding himself open to keep the movement alive.

Perfect example: http://i.minus.com/iR1ooxEVYyrNt.gif[ Staying open, lays off the backheel for unpredictability, which the pass then leads to a goal scoring opportunity.

Watching the West Ham highlights he was involved in the attack so much, but often at the beginning of the attack so you don't see it. Right now because he's not in his actual role, unless you're tracking him, it can be difficult to see what he's doing.

At 1:03, look who set up the pass for Young to get his goal (sure, there's some more defending in there, but we can't knock the idea of the movement)
3:16
3:45 again he sets up the pass before the assist for a goal scoring opportunity.

You can watch the rest of the highlights of Kagawa in that video and see what he does. Consistently keeping the movement alive. Attempting to retain possession and get a goal scoring opportunity going. For someone coming off injury, playing out of position/role, at a new team, in a different league, he's playing pretty damn well.

sir Alex loves to play Kagawa out of position to

Yeah, it's kind of hard to put him into the trequartista position with Rooney playing second striker. Not much you can do about that for now.

eiddyfouw was pretty much on point with his observation on Kagawa...

let me add something else though...
Shinji looked most comfortable in the CL match at home against Galatasaray...it was in a 4-2-3-1 formation...
that way he can operate in a preferred CAM position with support on either flanks by Valencia/Young or Nani...
unfortunately that leaves room for just one striker...
RvP's undoubtedly the man on form but like eiddyfouw has already mentioned,it's hard to leave a fully fit Rooney out of Utd's first eleven...

great abilities but time will tell if he becomes a great player...right now though i don't see why Sir Alex will regret not signing him...
aside from that cross,i don't think there was any significant contributions to his team...
say what you want about him but i think United just saved themselves €45m in transfer fees and bonuses...

on a side note,PSG played that match against a team currently in 15th position in Ligue 1 and Lucas Moura left the pitch 10mins into the end with cramps... >D

Who says that? Cause it's a really dumb thing to say. Of course a top team is greater than the sum of it's individual parts, but if you can't recognize that players like Hummels and Gotze are world class talents whom would succeed anywhere you need to watch BvB more. Sahin left far too early, but he was never given enough of an opportunity to establish himself in his preferred role and position at Madrid or Liverpool.

SAF should shunt Rooney out wide when he gets back, and play Kagawa through the middle. His vision and spatial awareness are far superior to Rooney's. When Utd play Madrid they'll need to attack down the flanks using quick transitions, and Kagawa will be their best option at playmaker.

As for Lucas, if he turns into a world class player the fee won't matter. The market is ridiculously inflated anyway, so most highly regarded players will only go for those kinds of fees.

 And the bitterness is to be expected from a spurned United fan, but if you didn't watch the game there's no need for snide remarks on his fitness. Not like it was his first game in around three weeks, and it's not like PSG played with 10 men for half the game. Oh, wait - it was, and they did. He looked good, though - some inventive play, and did well in his defensive duties.
