The Ultimate Soccer Thread 2012-2013 Vol. 3 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc

Every one that's a target gets snatched up by another team. We made no moves this transfer season. No ambition. Wenger just wants to get by. :frown:

M'Vila & Remy might be at the Emirates come the end of January.

Wenger knows he needs to finish this Walcott ordeal & get us at least 2 signings, I hope he still remembers we play Bayern next month.

^ I know you would get that Remy jersey asap :pimp:. Not convinced about Arsenal spending yet. It's one of those "see to believe" type things for me.

I was quite sure I read somewhere that Wenger isn't interested in M'Vila anymore cause of his Balotelli-like lifestyle off the pitch.

AW hasn't been interested in M'Vila since after the Euros. I'm sure we could have gotten him. I think Wenger could shape his attitude a bit. But he is an idiot. One too many antics. A lot of talent.
Itseems like no ground work for new signings has been laid. Not totally sure what he plans to do.

Our club has surely lost sight of things. We come off as a business. No one wants to hear that well be able to compete by 2014. Let me go to bed before I rant :smh:

I just watched that Chelsea v Stoke match again. Laaaaaaaawd. Mata. :smh: From the first time I watched it, I knew he was playing well, but this dude was involved in almost every single attack (including the ones that didn't lead to a goal). He's been ridiculously consistent over this season. I understand why Chelsea feels they can let go of Lampard. However, if his wages aren't ridiculous (which I have a VERY strong feeling that they are), I would think they should look into a Giggs type of situation. Passing down the knowledge to the up and coming stars.

If Chelsea can really keep Ba, Hazard, Mata, Oscar on the same page (and fit), while keeping their defence in check, they will be phenomenal next season.

While that midfield trio are sensational, they'll need to look into depth this summer. Otherwise they'll see another City-like meltdown after running players into the ground.

sorry City,Chelsea and Arsenal...but it's the battle of the two biggest clubs in England...

hoping for a home win but somehow i get this sneaky feeling that the Scousers are gonna hold United to a draw...

keep- we are playing at home though.I expect a win and nothing less

btw anyone looking for a good site for highlights and etc.. should deff check out 101goals (app too) and footytube. They even have full episodes of MOTD for all you non UK members

*After watching chelsea highlights. Remind me again why Cole is not being given a new contract? He's there best defender this yr, and the only real anchor they have. I can kinda see moving frank because how much depth they have but who is replacing Cole?

yup,Utd should win this...especially based on form...
but you know 'Pool always raise their game whenever they play United...it's like a cup final for them...

Cole isn't given a new contract because he won't accept a one year deal, and giving multiple year contracts to 32 year old players, who are looking to hover around 200K a week isn't good business. Of course Ryan Bertrand isn't Ashley Cole, but he is a good player and has shown that he is capable at the LB position. Much like Bertrand getting to stay and given the chance to play, I think next year will be the time for van Aanholt, and he has done well in all of his loan spells and I rate him so I think he'll be a solid backup.

Then you say that there is depth in the midfield so Frank is able to leave, but I don't think there's a Lampard replacement in the team. I think eventually Oscar will play in a deeper role like Lamps, but at the moment, most of this perceived depth in in the attacking trio. Unless they add a player like Benat or (if the rumors of a big rift are true) Modric, to me, Frank is the more irreplaceable player, at the moment.

I just think it's easy for fans to say sign em up, but for players who will have reduced playing time, keeping them with a same hit on the wage bill, is tough. Of course I would love for them to return, but if FFP is real, and the reported wage demands are accurate, I will be able to understand why some decisions like this need to be made.

There goes Young's left knee... looked painful.

EDIT ~ But he jogs back out.
