August Alsina.......dude is pretty dope...

Drama aside, how is the album?

so far like 3 songs in and I dig it.... haven't heard nothing that touches 'Downtown' yet.

Granted, I'm only 3 songs in  "Testify" is some real ish though--I love music where artists aren't afraid to really talk about their struggle.

1. I don't see why people making the Keshia Chante Vs August thing a big deal. I actually think both of them were in the right. He didn't wanna bring up Trey on his album release day and that's totally understandable and should be respected to a certain extent.
In Keshia case, she was doing what 106 asked her to do. It's not like she can't ask the question, she's an employee. She is very well trained and professional as you can see with the way she handled the situation properly.

y'all seen when August blocked her out of the shot to introduce his "Get Money" video?

But this situation is really not that serious at all. But 106 did get some ratings.
It sounded like b4 cameras were rolling he asked them not to ask him about it. I mean even after he cursed she still asked like that made the situation better

made it all the way through--- not bad. I enjoyed the EP more though.

Testify
Right there
grind & pray/get ya money
mama

those are my stand out tracks. Solid debut though.

I don't know how to embed but y'all need to watch this interview of him with Angie on hot97. Dude is FUNNY!

Anyway, i'm feeling the album. Loved all his mixtapes so i hope he keeps doing his thing.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that after reading thru this post, nobody likes Kissing On My Tattoos? I'm from the old school of R&B so i LOVE balads.

My standouts are:

Testify
Kissing On My Tattos
FML
No Love

Downtown is probably still my favorite cut from him though like someone mentioned earlier.

Yeah, I hear ya on dat'

I gave this a listen today finally and I rock with it. Right There, FML, Porn Star, and You Deserve are the songs that grabbed me on a first play, but I look forward to sitting with it. I have his last project too, but never played it. Think I'll go ahead and do that now.

Think I'll check out those J. Holiday albums mentioned too

This dude seem like a real ***** and all that but he need to humble himself and just be grateful. He act like he tryna blacklist himself with all these shenanigans. If I ever make it out the hood I would be happy everyday and friendly af reaaltalk. ***** prolly getting premium box every day while im over here simping over 5s and 6s. My life is in shambles breh

I liked his interview with Sway, I need to check out his music. I see no problem with what he did on 106. If they had an agreement off camera that they wouldn't ask any questions about Trey then you get on camera and they do the opposite... He shoulda been pissed. I don't even think it was that bad what he said.

Not like he disrespected her by calling her out of her name or insulting her, he just checked her. Replace the s word with "stuff" and it just would've been slightly uncomfortable. The fact that he cursed made it shocking.

I don't keep up with the new music much anymore, but how does this cat have so many singles for this album? Is it a new concept or is Def Jam really pushing him as the next big thing?

I really don't like the kid. We get it you a real n****...you are a R&B singer pick a lane and stay in it.

The Weeknd has killed modern R&B for me.

I'm really trying to like the album but it's just so meh.
