NT what Headphones you rock?

Okay so I'm just going to throw my cents in.

700

Nice review on the Grados. I am a firm believer that the Grados are the best bang for your buck under $100 bar none minus the Portapros. I have the SR225i myself and they are my favorite headphones that I own. They sound great for alternative and indie rock, the instruments and vocals come alive in every song that I play and a joy to listen to.

There a couple of great thing about Grados:

  • Sound to price ratio
  • Affordability
  • Modability - wood cups, cable upgrades, driver mods, etc
  • Openess - leads to just the right amount of bass, unless you are a basshead
  • Drivability - all the prestige models sound great out of a portable device without the need for an amp
  • Uniqueness/Retro design

Things I didn't like about Grados:
  • Build quality - not built great compared to others in the price range but sound is Grado's main focus
  • Portability - not really portable as they are open headphones and leak sound inside and out

I actually plan to get a couple of wooden cups for my SR225i and get the Alessandro MS1i to do the MS1000 mod with spacers and the G-cush pads.

Currently rocking some Sennheiser HD650s with a NuForce Icon DAC :pimp:

Does anyone own a pair of AKG K702s?

I own a pair of Q701 which I heard sound similar to the K702. I enjoy the Q701 for the great soundstage but still don't have an amp to properly enjoy them and the Q701 is bass light for me. But I am holding off on doing the bass mod until I get a proper amp like the Schiit Magni/Modi Stack. From what I read the HD600 and the Q701 sounded similar to each other but I have not heard the HD600 yet. Don't know about the HD650 in comparison to the Q701.

Gave these new studios a shot too, got the all black ones. They actually sound pretty good. MUCH better than the old studios.

Yeah man the sound bleed is significantly lower makes me wonder how I used the old Studios. Noise canceling is improved too. Can't hear anything with these on, which may be a bad thing . The styling is better, it doesn't look bulky on your head and they fixed the headband which was famous for breaking on the last version. You don't need batteries anymore it goes by USB charge and you just unplug the AUX to turn the headphones off.

Studios 2.0 >>>>>>>>>>> Studios
Nice to see beats improved their headphones. I got the first studios that came out. I only use them when I travel.

Where are people getting studio 2.0 for $200? :nerd:

You do this :
Price match beats executive from costco at best buy for $220

Apply for a credit card you get $10 off for just trying . Right down false infos to make you not get the card but if you do get it $20 off.

Now you can keep the beats executives they are nice and feel very nice in your hand much better than any of the dre line but the sound just doesn't match the looks . It would be a keeper though if it had rechargeable battery.

So then you go to target and say you lost you receipt they look up the price online it will ring up to $300 plus beats studios 2.0 were $260 so they gave me an extra $30 to spend it was actually mandatory so you must buy something that day of $30 but being at target $30 should not be hard to spend

So basically $200 + a $30 target gift card for some beats studio 2.0 bang for your damn buck haha

20$ shipped foldable Bluetooth over ears w/ lcd, fm, and microsd slot. Would prefer without the LCD but it's cool, these are actually for my neice. I like them though, might get myself a pair, although I'm probably leaning towards the Bludio R8+ or Syllable G08s

One of the most generic things I ever seen in my life haha

Those are the new beat, not beats, by dray, not dre. Lol, huge difference, but no difference......

"They have Golden Arches, we have pillars....."

Lol

Theoretically, having a hdd in the headphones could allow for some next level sound quality.

Everbody do yourselves a favor and pick up some Sony MDR-V6's. By far best bang for your buck by far.

Not just bang for your buck actually. After personally comparing them to other headphones, I'll kept them over Grados, Audio Technicas, Bose, Sennheisser, and especially Beats.

Here's the low end Beats wirelesss, not the ones from the KG commercial, for only 230. No flash memory is a deal breaker though, I'd like to be able to have an extra microsd card full of music so when I lift at the gym I don't even have to take my phone in there with me. Even in my pocket, it's asking to get crushed, especially doing db presses

I just got the Beats Mixrs for Christmas... These things knock!

Only negative thing is that I got them in white... Wish they were in red :smh:

Home: beats pros paid 400 for em some yrs back
Gym: Sony Walkman MP3 player

Keep a pair of beats pros and an iPod Shuffle in car in case I forget gym headphones

Tried these out

Never understood the hype

They don't get low and the top end isn't there.

Not saying they're bad..but they sound..boring

Boring? :smh:

Because they didn't raise the lows and highs a ridiculous amount the way headphones like Beats do? You're listening to artificially enhanced music. The best headphones are supposed to have a flat response in order to reproduce the sounds the way they were intended to sound when the music was mastered.

Same type of dudes to put two 15s in the trunk, leave the stock speakers, and turn up the bass in your car.

:smh:

But then again all you guys probably do is listen to rap with these so it's understandable. All you need is a cheap pair of headphones with the most bass.

Had the Beats Tours, Studios v1, and Pros then I moved on to AKG K702s and now I'm at the Sony  MDRV6. If anyones wondering, I sold all of them, but the MDRV6 and tours, I don't have a collection of headphones. I'm thinking about getting the Beats Executive for that discounted price though they sounded and felt damn good at the store.
