Routine Service?

I know a lot of Nter's have luxury vehicles, and I am in the market for one(Specifically an 04-08 Acura TL or maybe a G35). I am just trying to get an idea on what I am looking at spending routinely in reference to maintenance.

All input for any other model vehicles would be appreciated as well.

Thank you.

are those luxury cars? not clowning at all but usually when people are talking about high maintenance costs its about the Euros...i dont know much about either but i thought acura was in the same lane with honda with reliability and maintenance - infinity might be a different story- I know someone who had a g35 for like 3 years never took care of it and only sometimes did the minimum maintenance and never had a problem...until someone totaled it at least

Should have just addressed us as NT, no luxury owners we all drive M3's duh. Not being rude but not sure if the cars you mentioned are
considered luxury cars. My Mom used to have a TL and I don't remember the maintenance being anything outrageous in price.

BMW - $0

Free scheduled maintenance...

I'm pretty sure Infiniti parts are more expensive than Acura parts.

Of course you can always find parts cheaper online, and if you can find a mechanic you can trust it really isn't expensive at all.

I cant really see maintenance being noticeably higher on the cars you brought up unless those two dealership networks charge more per hour(compared to Honda or Nissan). I know there are some things Nissan wont do to an Infiniti and they will tell you that you have to go to an Infiniti dealership. Now MB and BMW..

I've got an '09 FX35 - and the maintenance varies. I only take it in for the routine check ups. Can cost anywhere from $49 to $1000+ (never more than $1200). This is about 3/4 times per year.

My girl has a '10 Q5, and she's fully covered for all maintenance through 60k miles. It was part of the package we got when we bought the car. Haven't spent a dime, but have taken it in for routine maintenance.

Yeah Japanese luxury vehicles will be no different than accords and altimas. I change the oil on my 05 acura and spend $35(synthetic oil)

Euros will hurt your wallet tho.

hey OP,

not really addressing the topic, but I'm in the market for a TL as well (looking for a Grey '07 model).

got my mom's older benz when she got a new one.. the ONLY reason i took the car

but to answer your question, way too much.. every little thing costs way more than it should.. and the cost is exacerbated by being in the bahamas (rates of duty to bring stuff in to fix whatever is wrong)

Buy the Acura... it holds its value really good.

The Infiniti is also a good buy, but to get aftermarket parts for it if something were to happen can be a pain since I don't think Nissan puts out the molds for some parts so you'll have to go straight through a dealership which you'll need some KY Jelly.

Its a TL (which is one of my favorite cars ever), so it isnt really a luxury car. Maybe compared to an Accord or Camry, but it should just be as reliable as one also.

Regular cars: Chevy, Toyota, ford, Dodge ,Honda, Nissan , GMC, jeep

Luxury : infinity, Acura, Cadillac, Mercedes, Lincoln, BMW, lexus, jaguar

High end luxury: maybach, Porsche, $150k+ cars.

750iL owner here. I bought the car new a few years back with a 5 year extended warranty. So far the oil changes and routine diagnostics and tune ups haven't ran more than $500. I'm at 40k miles and don't take the car out of town so I haven't experienced any serious maintenance issues. I imagine at the 80K mark things will be begin to get costly.

You can cop a 2012 Porsche Cayman for 55k.

They belong in luxury.

*Also, Maybach stopped production.

This is NT, everyone is gonna act like they have their own personal 75% off mechanic

It's good for the first few years.  My 335i was flawless until it hit about 70k miles then all sorts of issues happened.  This was why I got rid of it.  There was a time span where I paid about $5k over 6 months due to issues.  I got a new TSX to repalce it.  This car is relatively cheap to maintain.  I have it for about 1.5 yrs with about 35,000 miles on her.  It's a downgrade from the 335i for sure, but it's only a temp move.  I'll rejoin the luxury club sooner or later.

I have an 06 Lexus GS for past 4 years and havent had too many issues besides all the recalls. Oil changes are like $70.
My wife has an 08 Audi A6 Prestige. Were still under warranty until 100,000 miles so luckily nothing major has occured yet. An oil change on the Audi is $180 though....not a fan of that at all.
