I know about famous Pats & Genos, and Tony Lukes....any other places that have better cheesesteaks than those places or are those places even worth going to.   Need anybodys advice please....thx

Steve's Prince of Steaks is my favorite.

If you're in Center City, check out Campos and Sonnys. I'm not a big fan of Jim's.

John's Roast Pork on Snyder in between Front and Columbus in South Philly. I've had plenty good cheesesteaks but they're definitely the best.

If you're looking for a good spot late night, Maxx's is really good. Be warned it's in the heart of North Philly where Broad, Erie, and Germantown all intersect. So don't go inebriated.

Not chessteaks but if you haven't been there definitely make a stop a the famous 4th street deli . Sandwiches are enormous

You got Ishkabibbles on South Street which is one of my favorites...Also have Larry's over by ST. Joseph's University off City line ave.

I'm a big fan of Jim's on South, except for the recent drug raids haha.. Pretty much right across the street from Ishkab.

i would recommend either pat's or john's roast beef - consistently make good cheesesteaks. other places like jim's and tony lukes are either hit or miss..

phillips is good and i guess jim's if you're also in need of some yay. if not ishkabibles across the street is a good choice as well

i'm assuming you're visiting since if you were from the area you wouldn't need to make this thread, but understand that everyone from philly has their favorite and any place in philly is better than anywhere else in the country.

back when I lived in Philly, my favorite spot was Gooey Louie's on Moyamensing & McClellan...haven't been there in about 8 years though but I never forgot the place :D

I have to be honest every time I hear somebody say this I always assume they aren't black. I've never heard a black person say this but maybe thats cause I'm black and grew up in North. They do have good cheesesteaks from what my friends say but I've never been there. I usually just goto a corner store and get a cheesesteak platter for 3.75. When I'm out and about though if I'm comming from a game always try to hit up Tony Lukes and Steves isn't too bad either. Pats/Genos are for the after club drunk night every now and then if I'm around there but usually am not.

Word they're HUGE too. My favorite is either Jim's on South St. or John's Roast Pork on Snyder Ave past Front St. Jim's because they way their meat is, and John's because they use the best rolls in the country.

I don't eat red meat so im a chicken cheesesteak dude. When I'm in Phili I always hit up Ishkabibble on south street. Chicken cheesesteak :pimp:

Went to Ishkabibbles for the first time on Wednesday.  Very, very good.

Ive been to pat's, geno's, jim's (northeast and south st), and some others as well...the best cheesesteak i have ever had though is from steve's steaks (northeast) on bustleton ave. HANDS DOWN THE BEST! I normally get an "american wit-out ta-go" (american cheese without fried onions to go) and i never EVER put condiments on it because it ruins how the cheesesteak tastes! I love ketchup on everything btw. Please do NOT get that fake WIZ crap on your meal. Fake cheese on real meat should never be mixed. Trust me, steve's american cheese melts with the thin sliced meat and warm bread to a perfection that will leave you wanting more. Anywhere else your better off buying it from your corner pizzaria with all that grease (jims is GAF and so is pats) tony lukes #1 is roast beef. Go to a place where their priority is good cheesesteaks. STEVE'S!

It's wiz

But YES! Steve's Prince of Steaks is my all-time favorite.  Best cheesesteak in the city imo.

Steve's is my favorite... but if you can get out to Chestnut HIll and try a Scmidter, you will not regret it!

eat a pork w/ sharp roasted's and spinach. lil joint called Pastaficio nxt to Chickie's and Pete's south philly. Or the best John's Roast pork. someone one here said it. she's right!
