Spielman is a genius!!

Now Ponder will be SO AWFUL they will have no choice but to get rid of him and move on plus he wont have $10+ Million tied up in a slot receiver/return man/gadget player and no QB or passing offense to speak of.

Percy had the Vikings bent over a barrell and they got more than 1st for him.

Percy will go to a dynamic team on the brink that can actually use/afford a complimentary piece like him and he should be happy with his role and winning for the next 4-5 years.

Everyone wins unless the Vikes dont move on from Ponder and blow these picks.

I feel if the Vikings can sign Greg Jennings, and have a solid draft with those two first rounders, they could improve and return to the playoffs.

This dude is like the NFL's Paul Heyman

Sherm, Russellmania, Percy Harvin, Beastmode.

Word, they were already perennial contenders for the Superbowl the way they're built. Adding Harvin just made them the single most dangerous team in the NFL IMHO.

In the NFL today, there isn't one offensive player that can impact multiple facets of the offensive game like Percy Harvin can. Some may say Cobb is the best multi-purpose player in the game, but it's Harvin.

This Vikings team gets a first rounder so it's not like they wont fill the spot, but nobody in this draft can just come in and do what Harvin can.

Pete is not trippin off that 1st rd pick he just got one of the most explosive players in the league. The 9ers gotta be pissed.

AP is Michael Jackson playing with a bunch of Tito's :smh:

With Clemons tearing his ACL, they will need Irvin to step up to give them a pass-rush.

They also have to extend him because hes a free agent in 2014 and he wants big money(in his own words "Calvin Johnson type contract"). A first rounder for a guy with character issues, always injured, chronic migraine problems and wants a huge contract.
yup

Mutual win-win. Seattle is close and in win-now mode, to dethrone SF. Use Percy for a year and not handcuffed to re-signing him to a monster contract. Minny can rebuild with the added picks. Tavon is Percy-light for cheaper. May have to move up to get him. Percy is tough but migraines were always an issue. Moderate injury history.

Saw this on twitter:
@PFF Harvin missed 7 games last year, but still had 12 more receptions than any Seahawk did over 16

Isn't this Percy's final year of a rookie contract?

If so, I'm saying make a run with him as a rental. Then make the decision to re-sign long-term or not, for major $. Seattle is a contender and won't be forced to pay the long-term $ Percy is demanding, if they utilize him as a one-year rental.

Scratch that, Crooks. Saw Schefty report the deal is contingent on an extension coming within 48 hours. Don't like it for Seattle as much. Percy is a weapon, but isn't Tavon cheaper and somewhere in between Harvin and McCluster?

Tavon ain't going to be there when they pick, I don't know why people keep bringing him up.

this right here, not sure why people are bashing the vikings when they had zero plans on keeping him

This was a win/win for both teams, in the short term this is huge for Hawks, but the Vikes put themselves in good spot with the picks they received. Gonna be a great year with the Hawks

Rick Speilman is a genuis. Give him credit. I am sure he knew he wasnt going to pay a WR who never had 1000 yards receving Megatron money. We got value for Harvin. We need a good draft now.

Nobody was going to pay him Megatron money though.

I really don't see a down side for this trade for either side.

Man wait a minute,

For some reason I thought the Vikings back their way into the playoffs after Percy got hurt.

They went 5-2.
