You don't think Denver can address their issues in the draft?
I mean the offense is pretty much set.

Just need some secondary help and maybe 1 more pass rusher...IMO.

Yup. I hope the dude from Texas A&M drops like many are saying. I'd be fine if they went ALL defense int he draft haha

Patriots have to go after Amendola now.
He'd plug right in and produce very similar, if not BETTER numbers than Welker's last year.

You can quote that.
5% chance I might be wrong though...

I don't think you're really going that far off on a limb at all.... only thing is Amendola's injury issues. Other than that, it wouldn't shock me if he put up better stats than Welker

This is anything but true. That 06-07 team's defense was the reason they won the SB. They carried Peyton when he struggled throughout the postseason. Bob Sanders, Antoine Bathea, Gary Brackett, Cato June, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, etc...

They were not the reason, but they certainly contributed during the postseason. That entire year, however, they were soooo mediocre. Horrible against the run. Not healthy during stretches. But when the playoffs hit, yeah they played solidly as a unit. BUT, this Broncos team defense (last year especially) was basically the polar opposite of that Colts D.

23rd ranked defense for points allowed.
21st ranked defense for yards allowed.
21st in turnovers.
32nd against the rush... allowing 5.3 ypc.

:x They turned it on when it mattered (and it probably helped they played Rex Grossman in the Super Bowl).

Highly underrated fact

"Our defense sucks, but so does their QB"

They were horrible against the run because they had injuries. Bob Sanders sat the last handful of games and they gave up 200 yards rushing a couple times. But they got healthy by postseason and they carried Peyton. Peyton had a terrible QB rating and threw more INTs than TDs. They forced 3 turnovers and 4 sacks limiting the cheifs to 8 points in the wildcard when Peyton threw 3 INTs. Went into Baltimore and gave up just 6 points the entire game. They consistently gave Peyton good field position and he never came up with a TD.

We saw the Broncos D give up over 38 points when Peyton could only put up 21 points, at home. They are not the same Defense.

Everyone who watched that Colts postseason run knew the D carried them. Peyton was throwing INTs left and right, a couple fer pickle 6's. This Broncos D cannot carry them when the offense is struggling.

Yes, they did. And Peyton turned it down when it mattered, like always. The D carried them through that postseason run. See my post above.

And they wouldn't have been in the playoffs without that offense. We can do this dance all day. Focus on the 2013 NFL Offseason.

You know this how? The game is played for a reason, and people were probably saying the same thing about that Colts D as well.

That was only one instance in peytons entire career where the D outshined the O..and it couldnt of came at a bettertime...

but i think dude was on point when he said this defense is similar to the colts...they proved this season that they play well with the lead, and theyre gonna almost always have the lead...

i think the broncos obviously are frontrunners for the bowl now...i wanna see the vegas odds.bet they shifted back to denver

thats EXACTLY what they said about the colts run...that run by the colts D was so uncharacteristic by their previous standards...they rose to the occasion and i give them props...but lets not pretend like the defense was their strength and thats what got them the 1st round bye..

I am. I'm talking about this Broncos Defense and how its not the same as the Colts D. Dont change the subject because its making your boy Peyton look bad :rolleyes

Thats my exact point. The Broncos D didnt step up to the occasion. That Colts D did. That Colts D never gave up 30 points in any of postseason losses or wins.

I can't believe I haven't heard anything about Pacman. Dude had a really solid year last year. Hopefully the Bengals bring him back.
