People putting angel wings on his son who is still alive :smh:, that's when I don't like the Internet, needs to be more fact checking.

When are poeple going to look at AD for having a child he wouldn't even acknowledge. Hope he mans up and becomes a major part in his other secret kids lives if he has any

He didn't know the child was his until recently...

Adrian Peterson only recently learned he was the father of a 2-year-old boy in South Dakota ... and met him for the first time Thursday ... while the boy was on life support, TMZ has learned.

Multiple sources connected to the situation tell us ... roughly 2-3 months ago, the mother of the child had a paternity test done with an ex she suspected to be the father, in an effort to collect child support from him.

But the test turned up negative, so the woman went to Adrian ... with whom she had a sexual encounter several years ago.

We're told ... when Adrian was first informed about the matter, he didn't question the possibility he was the dad -- but rather asked how he could help the situation.

Sources tell us ... a few weeks ago, A.P. started to plan a trip to South Dakota to meet the child for the first time and he was supposed to fly out later this month.

But when he heard the news about the attack on the 2-year-old, Peterson dropped everything and jetted over to Sioux Falls as soon as he could.

We're told Adrian met the child for the first time while the boy was on life support.

Multiple sources tell us ... Adrian has been very involved since the tragedy and was the one pushing the have the child's organs donated to other people in need of a transplant.

As for the suspect, Joey Patterson, we're told Adrian has never met the guy.

We reached out to Adrian and the mother of the child for comment -- so far, no word back from either side.

wow nevermind. shame on the mother then for waiting 2 years to figure out the father, only because she wanted child support.

Please don't be naive enough to really believe that he just found out about this kid two months before this happened. If she had any remote clue that it was AP's kid she would have been trying to get every penny she could get for the past two years. There was probably a ton of under the table money being sent her way.

Yeah exactly.

Who cares about what was he doin under the table for the past 2 years.
We arent here to judge the man based off of what he might have been doing for the past 2 years.

The point is, a man killed a 2 year old child that happened to be his.
AP didn't commit a crime in this situation. He didn't do anything to harm the kid or the wife.
Don't get why anyone would wanna look into "AP's dirt"... hes not the one that should be under the microscope.
How he handled being the father of the child has nothing to do with the tragedy that just happened.

To be honest, thats none of anyones damn business.

Yep this is why I said I didn't wanna even go there with this subject. Wasn't at all saying the guy that abused the woman and the kid isn't a sick piece of ****...just was stating that I think the details that have came out so far are a tad off base.

Think he'll play tomorrow?

AP about to go Waterboy.

He's going to picture that dudes face on every defender.

Honestly think he can go 200+ and I hope he does

Carolina is going to be in the unfortunate position of playing an emotionally charged team for the second year in a row.

This. As a Panthers fan, I honestly don't see how the result will be any different from that KC post-Belcher game either. All that extra emotion for AD/Minny plus our 'coaching' and 'offensive coordinator'...it might get ugly.

so sad to hear about this :frown: RIP to AP's son... just a terrible situation |I

with all these reports coming out now about the relationship AP had with his son, i hope this doesn't turn into one big mess.

i do hope AP goes off tomorrow though. he's been through so many tragedies in his life & a football game might seem meaningless, but i know a lot of athletes use their sport as a safe haven, so i hope if he plays he goes out there & dominates.

Pardon if it's been asked already, but is Eli manning under the same scrutiny as schaub?

More picks, less wins. Or does he flash his Super Bowl rings and wave off criticism?
