Because 99% of the time the players who are winning you games in the last 2 minutes, are actually good players in the other 58 minutes. There's no need to give them some mythical added value because they play 60 full minutes of good football. They are probably already either the most valuable player overall on the team or they are the most valuable at their position on the team.

If your really good when the game is on the line what do you call that?

I'm not saying its the most important thing but it does matter.

The argument would be that what you describe doesn't exist. Tom Brady has a higher chance of scoring at the end of a game because Tom Brady always has a higher change at scoring, etc.

I can live with what you guys are saying

Peyton's the only one on that list that I can see retiring by 2016 barring bad injury to others.

RGIII could tear his knee up again and still play after it though.

I think Rodgers will be back for the Lions game on Thanksgiving. He said he'll have to be on the practice field 2 days before the game in order to play again. And this was in reference to this weeks game against the Vikings. The fact that hes mentioning when he needs to be back on the practice field instead of "we're still waiting" has me thinking he's closer to returning than we think.

I'm going to be back when I'm ready, when there's a very low risk of reinjuring that. Obviously, if you have another blow like I had, displacement of the collarbone could be three to five months of rehab. So, that's not what we want. At the same time, we're 5-5. We might need a little jolt here at some point.

He never mentioned he wasn't capable of playing. Seems like they're trying to gauge what the risk of re-injury is and when its worth it to take that risk. We're only a game in the hole, I think they're trying to be as strategic as possible about this. If we were to beat the Vikings and the Lions/Bears lose this week, perhaps they bench him no matter what as long as we arent losing ground.

To be completely honest though, i dont have a clue. Pure optimism here.

Megatron deserves serious MVP consideration. Especially if Detroit wins the division.

Peyton, Charles, Brees, Shady, Russy/Beast Mode, Luck, Cam. All deserve mention.

I'm hoping either him or Barr. But they'll be in the running for both.

Either of those guys would be perfect for them on paper, and they should get one (I'm always skeptical when McShay and Kiper start hyping up LBs though).

However, falcons really need a good draft in all 7 rounds. They need depth badly.
