Tavon Austin. You will learn.
I already know. :smokin been low key following the Rams since shortly after I moved to southern Illinois, Feb last year.
Um, watching the Rams v Titans Super Bowl must have been........interesting?
Was definitely pulling for the Titans. My little sports heart was still broken from the Rams leaving, and to watch them make it to to the SB, nah, I wasn't happy. My feeling was "This could be another LA championship, you clowns!"

True

But it won't be that way for long.

Percy had a slow start to his career, once he got goin, he became a nightmare. I expect a similar start/result for Austin. When he gets a little muscle on his frame, but maintains his speed, learns the angles, playbooks, etc, it's a wrap.

As a WR, definitely true. And I'll say for this season and for a bit going forward. Tavon is gonna lose because his red zone targets will be limited.

I thought Percy was pretty good his first season. I don't see the same for him.

Percy had a slow start to his career

Wait.

What?

60 balls for 790 6 TD's, isn't a slow start?

Couple years later he's almost at 90 for 1,000.

Stop bein a damn homer, I didn't knock Percy, I spoke on how he started compared to what he was a couple years later. I expect the same for Tavon.

You struggle with what I'm sayin still?

Percy had 3 TDs in his first 3 games.... and was Offensive Rookie of the Year.

That's not a slow start, no matter how you slice it. Yeah, I still struggle immensely with what you're saying.

You rounded up on BOTH his TDs and yards when you brought up his stats two years later, AND you strategically "forgot" to mention his kick/punt return #s in his rookie year, which if you've watched him play even once in his four year career is an obvious giant part of his game.

When did I say you knocked him? You're just clearly mistaken on his production during the first year of his career.

I would love for you to post a list of receivers that had a better first year than him.

8 total touchdowns, 1156 yards on JUST kick returns, and then 790 yards receiving.

Slow start.

What the **** I care about God damn kick returns? You want me to mention ****** Ted Ginn had a nice start to his career cuz he ran back kicks?

Here, I will rephrase so you can put your Minnesota cape away, Percy, as a wide receiver, got off to a slowish start, and then became a huge weapon. I expect, Tavon to have similar struggles, at wide receiver, and then eventually tune it up on the league as he learns routes, angles, playbooks, etc.

There you go JPZ, just for you. :D

I rounded up........3 catches.

I round up 3, catches.

Three.

What kind of person am I?

How will I live my life after this moment?

:smh:

Have you ever watched Tavon? He is a factor in the return game just as Percy is and was when he started his career.

You said, "He had a slow start to his career" which is undeniably false, and factors in ALL parts of their skillset. Okay, so lets just RID ourselves of the kick return game (to help your argument, which you desperately are in need of right now)... alright! That's whited-out. Still 2 TDs in his first two games. You don't have to say that's a great start (which it is for a rookie receiver, ESPECIALLY with how slow his QB started that year), but that's not a slow start in the slightest. "Similar struggles at WR" :smh:

And oh my god, you brought up Ted Ginn.

Man.

Who did you compare to Hines Ward back in the day saying "they're pretty much the same receiver"? Yeah, just stop evaluating receivers altogether.

*note to self, don't talk about the Vikings*

I don't really give a **** what you're 2 TD's in 2 games means to you.

60, 790, 6 is his rookie year.

2 years later

87, 967, 6.

Much better. When I said that, I was speaking offensively, I care none about his return abilities, I know that he has them, as I know that Tavon will also have them. But on offense, Harvin was NOT the weapon his rookie year, that he was 2 years later. Fact. Period.

Need more proof? Running the ball they gave it to him 15 times his rookie year. (1 a game) 52 times 2 years later. For another 345 yards and a couple more TD's.

Again, on offense. As a weapon, on offense. Tavon will be dynamic as a returner, what was the origial question? True/False, Chris Givens will have a better season than Tavon Austin? Well, since Chris Givens won't be returning ******g kicks, I'd say he was asking as a receiver, would you agree with that? So when I addressed him, I said Givens, this year, but it will change in a year or two. Because OFFENSIVELY, Austin will develop similar to how Percy did, not just a kick returner, but a threat on offense as well.

Next time I will type every thought out, word for word, and try not to use any Vikings so that you won't feel the need to put your cape on and come save a player that wasn't even being attacked.

Are you good now? Have I made the point well enough with these extra 2,000 words the last hour or so so you can feel vindicated saving a former player of yours? May I continue on with my life?

Oh, so because he didn't match his 2011 production in his rookie season.. that means that he had a "slow start to his career"? Wow. LOL. (Not to mention, those #s aren't even THAT far apart... receptions only difference. Same TD total, only 175 more yards..., but anyway)

Hey, CP. How many receivers match their production in Year 1 that they do in Year 3? Roughly... hmmm let me do the math... k, carry the 1.... oh yeah. About 0% of them. So basically, because he didn't (as EVERY wide out fails to do pretty much), that means he had a slow start? He's supposed to post identical numbers or it's a slow start?

By that logic, every WR in the NFL has had a slow start, with just about no exceptions.

Just about every way you look at it, you're wrong man. Because if we're just talking about his first few games in the NFL, he had a solid performance on the offensive side of the ball (2 TDs, man... this dude needs to pick it up!), or if we're talking about his first season, he was OROY.

Tell me what that O stands for.

Offense.

Harvin was NOT the weapon his rookie year, that he was 2 years later. Fact. Period.

Point me to where I said he was. Try not to ignore this, like you did with my question about Hines Ward and the deep threat WR you said played alike.

You enjoy calling people homers when you speak out of turn on something you know little about. Numbers separate opinions from facts.

I gotta disagree with your initial assertion man, I mean 760 and 6 is awesome for a rookie WR.

2009 Vikings.

Sidney Rice - 8 TDs, over 1,300 yards receiving.
Visanthe Shiancoe - 11 TDs, over 500 yards receiving.

The ball was clearly getting spread around, yet, Percy in his rookie season, still somehow got 760 yards,6 TDs, and OROY.

Slow Start.

Saw his name mentioned so all I gotta say is.....Tavon Austin is the real ******g deal. Point blank period. Dudes never even missed a PRACTICE since high school let alone a game. So there goes your injury concerns cause of his size.

My favorite college player of all-time :smokin
