It's just dumb, there's no way to justify it. It really doesn't matter that Trent is a RB and RBs are a replaceable entity in the NFL. PROVEN players are hard to come by in the NFL, even more rare proven young ones
define hard to come by?

jamaal charles

lesean mccoy

arian foster

adrian peterson

cj spiller

darren mcfadden

marshawn lynch

ray rice

demarco murray

ben tate

maurice jones drew

frank gore

chris johnson

alfred morris

reggie bush

matt forte

giovanni bernard

deangelo williams

steven ridley

doug martin

who does trent richardson replace on that list and makes the team significantly better than having a extra 1st,3rd and 4th rounder

brandon marshall couldnt even command a first rounder and he affects the game far more when the dolphins had him on the trading block

than trent richardson.....richard just got them a 1st,3rd and 4th round pick....

I don't know if Trent is proven yet though. I think he'll be an upper-tier back, but 3.4 yards a carry early on doesn't prove he's legitimized just yet. The entire course of the success of his career could've been completely flipped by going to Indy now, too. We won't really know how it would have ended in Cleveland.

I felt the Browns could compete this year because of potential down years for Pittsburgh and Baltimore, but I guess the 0-2 start was enough to throw in the towel. I really would have liked to see the Holmgren regime get more time, but everything is so damn rushed in sports today.

Good trade for all the parties involved. Trent will have a lot more space to run. Indy got the weapon they needed at running back. Cleveland got tons of trade value for a player whose potential they couldn't maximize.

You can't justify a to-be-determined first round pick over a proven commodity.

Not to mention, the Browns TRADED up to get him, thus... they (the Browns, switch of management but the resources were all the same to the fans) put a lot of stock into Trent Richardson through giving up picks in 2012 and now giving up Trent for just a... pick that could fluctuate to 20 or a bit further.

The Browns ****** up. Drew Carey and cast members are now running down the street in their opening sequence to burn FirstEnergy Stadium to the ground.

All this does is put a ridiculous amount of pressure on the Browns to hit not one, but TWO home runs in the '14 draft.

The QB that comes in better be a franchise-altering player.

This is an unprecedented level of ineptitude. :smh:

 @ those 49ers fans...sour grapes, man

Why would Mike Lombardi care what the last GM did to get Trent Richardson? Seem irrelevant to me.

Its a RB, the easiest position to replace, I mean great running backs have put up good numbers on bad teams before, so its hard for me to think that Trent Richardson is that extreme of an outlier and I need to give him the benefit of the doubt.

would anyone really be surprised if the colts when 6-10.

Very.

Edit:

After looking at their schedule 7-9 is very possible

Of course Lombardi doesn't care...but the fact remains that he's now cleaning up a mess which included TWO 1st round misses in the '12 draft. That's unheard of.

*In thinking about it, which teams are in need of a QB going forward?

Cleveland
Jacksonville
Minnesota
Tampa Bay
Arizona
*St. Louis

*Might not be ready to end the Bradford experiment just yet...a big year would obviously save his job.

Osh is correct.

I don't have Indy's schedule, but SF, Sea, Hou twice I know for sure. StL. Tenn twice. Jax 2x and Arizona. Do they have NE, or Den, Cinn?

Anyway, they are one Luck injury from death. Already lost a TE, a starting Olineman. What if Wayne or Luck got hurt?

Struggled with Oakland at home. Lost to Miami at home.

We all EXPECT them to be 11-12 win team, but if they win 7-8, that's a top 15 pick. And Cleveland already likely to have a top 3-4.

And if Luck goes down..........two top 10 picks is in play.

Not only improves the #1, they have Indy's #4.

Could have 7 of top 105 picks or so. In a deep draft. (Potentially)
