Ozzie just signed Micheal Huff to replace Ed at free safety. Not bad considering he's 5 years younger, not injured often and more athletic. Plus they save a lot of money, got him for cheap.

He was playing out of position last year as corner in Oakland because of how depleted they were. He should have a much better year back at his natural position.

Ozzie quietly making improvements while people continue to laugh :nerd:

This is ignoring the fact that he sucked at safety prior to the move to CB

What improvements ?

He's made some signings that's all, we still don't know if it's going to improve, keep the same or fail.

Really wanted Huff to come to GB... But as soon as I saw the Raven's were in play I knew TT wasn't going to offer him what he wanted.

Wikipedia says he was an All-Pro at FS in 2010, though

I don't know how he's been as of late though... maybe he just stopped caring and lost motivation?

Well that's why I used the world quietly.
Nothing loud and ground breaking yet overall.
But saving millions of dollars while bringing in younger, quicker players (Elvis and Huff) ain't a bad start.

I know he still has a lot of work to do

So we bring in Huff, Dumervil, Spears, and Canty all for about the price of Reed and Kruger...

And we still have a bunch of draft picks...

I would like to see what moves we make on offense, but I dig what our FO has done in the past week or so...

Purple City Byrd Gang... :pimp: :pimp:

^ you didn't mention how sorry your receivers are and how average Flacco is

Osi still hasn't signed to Atlanta. What's the word on that. Deal should have been done by Sunday, Monday the latest. Is it not gonna happen? Would love to see him back in blue but I'm 95% sure that's not happening.

Ravens fans still playing the disrespected card? You won the title and any football fan knows your FO is good. Let it go, the football world isn't against you

it should be noted for reference that 224 of those yards where against what we

in the business like to call "the saint" the worst defense in the NFL ....week 16

when the saints where playing for nothing , in a dome , and the cowboys where

hungry

also for reference 19 receivers went over 1,000 yards receiving

with 10 going over 1,350 yards

he still is who he is , an athletic freak who can put a game togethor

here and there

he visited dallas last week, was looking forward to homie coming back home...good pick up for the ravens..still a BIG downgrade from ed reed tho...

Since week 4 he was 4th (when he started going) in yardage behind CJ, AJ, and Marshall A damn good group to be behind.
And 3rd in td's (1 less) than James Jones and Eric Decker.

" a freak athlete who puts together a game here and there" What does that even mean? are you saying he's inconsistent?
Can't that be said about every freak receiver? dez is a bust thread all over again. :smh:

Edit: just to clarify i got what you meant saying 1000 isn't uncommon and he hit 1300+ buffing his stats vs NO but, the two recieves who finished ahead that didn't go 1500+, Thomas and Jackson both played NO too (Jackson twice) and Thomas played a whole slew of teams you guys in the "biz" would call bad. They had their chance to buff their stats too. Not to mention that's how he game works. What players doesn't have highs/lows and just gets their avg every time?

I'm going to fall back though. even if Dez gets 1600+ next year they'll just say it took him long enough and still discredit him. no use arguing.

lmao money will be saved on cgi on the next avengers

also ,

Pro Football Focus PFF
Ed Reed's PFF grade since '08: +15.4, +16.6, +11.9, +6.9, -2.4. Notice a trend? Ravens probably did.

^To add to that..

@PFF_Gordon. In the past three seasons Huff has missed 18 tackles. Ed Reed missed 16 in the 2012 regular season alone.

I love Ed but dude refused to tackle last season (other than hits on defensless receivers). I can recall multiple big plays and TDs that were solely his fault. I honestly think our defensive rating will improve next season, the D was clearly old and slow last year.

I've liked every move the Ravens have done so far this off-season. Reed has been regressing, and I remember PFT having an article about Reed & Pollard leading a revolt against Harbaugh, so that may have played a role. Boldin was a loss, but he wasn't looking very good in the reg season so we will see.

Our recievers serve their purpose and they as well our QB showed up when it mattered most, and Flacco styled this postseason... All for that Lombardi glory...

Of course we lost Quan and have O-Line issues to address, hence:

I don't quite understand your angle...

Sigh.

The Dez Bryant love train.

For someone who's finally starting to put it together after 3 years y'all act like this man is the next GOAT.

Let's see if he can have consecutive seasons of high production before we call canton.
