Tom Brady, Terrell Owens connect

A day after being spotted with new New England Patriots teammate Danny Amendola working out at USC, Tom Brady was back on the field at the Trojans' facility and throwing passes to an unlikely target Wednesday: Terrell Owens.

Owens, who last played in an NFL game during the 2010 season, tweeted about the workout, noting it also involved Minnesota Vikings and former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel.

The 39-year-old wide receiver spent just more than three weeks with the Seattle Seahawks during training camp last August but eventually was released prior to the start of the regular season. He spent the 2010 season with the Cincinnati Bengals, starting 11 of 14 games with 72 catches for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.

Owens is second in the NFL all time in receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns.

Prior to signing with the Seahawks, Owens played in eight games for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League. He also became a co-owner of that team upon signing.

Brady has made a habit of working out with receivers near his offseason home in Southern California, spending extensive time with Wes Welker and Julian Edelman in previous offseasons.

The Patriots begin their offseason workout program April 15. Organized team activities start May 20.

If the Pats signed T.O., as hard as it is for me to do, I'll root for them on Sunday in conjunction with my Boys.

Interesting because this is how T.O. ended up with the Bengals. Palmer throws passes to Owens in Cali; Palmer vouches for Owens to Bengals.

Who on earth are the WR's on the Pats depth chart besides Amendola and Edleman? Owens would come dirt cheap and he still runs a 4.45

we've got emmanuel sanders, michael jenkins, and donald jones this offseason. my money says only one of those dudes makes the team.

but WR is an issue, no doubt. luckily we've got two TEs that put up WR numbers
