Peyton's Super Bowl was because his defense carried his *** every game
Ok ok. I'm gonna have to interrupt this debate. The Colts had one of the worst defenses that entire year. It wasn't until the playoffs that they flipped a switch of some sort and started playing very well. They certainly didn't carry that team though. That's silly.

Speaking of bad defense though..Peyton may have had another Super Bowl if the Bronco defense wasn't a bunch of idiots.
That ball to Jacoby.

DB made one of the worst plays I've seen in a long time on that heave.

or he didnt throw that pick...

Peyton won the game before that happened. I blame the defense. Interceptions happen when you play over 5 quarters of football.

the funny thing is if they win that game

"oh it was peyton, look how he wheeled him team to victory with that experience and savy"

but since they lost " well you know, its a team game, its not his fault"

Don't get me wrong. He's a great regular season quarterback. Arguably the best. But in the playoffs it's a whole new man. That year he won the ship he had like a 72 rating. Which is why I compared him and Ryan. Great regular season but iffy in playoffs

Yeah Peyton did a great job lead blocking for both of hollidays returns

I'm referring to the go ahead TD you sapsucker. Get a clue

(Shotgun) P.Manning pass short right to D.Thomas for 17 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Den 35 Bal 28

Compelling argument. :rolleyes

you know i have a disdain for Manning.

with that being said, you know he didnt have that game "won"

2 Special team TDs, plus that pick, plus he kneeled on that final drive, he wanted no parts of it.

The majority of NFL quarterbacks lose more playoff games than finishing with a Super Bowl victory.

The stats show he's a better regular season Q. So what? He's still easily one of the best ever and discrediting everything he does because his numbers don't align is silly. It's not like he's Super Bowl-less.

Manning had a pick that was on a tipped ball at the line, I'm sorry but with a lead the defense can't allow Flacco to throw a 70 yard TD pass with 30 seconds left in regulation, complete joke.

That's all we need to know. You still having nightmares about him killing the Texans for years.

Couple people in here don't understand that a game flows in many ways... Just because something happened in the 2nd quarter doesn't mean it directly resulted in the final tally.

You don't know that Peyton wouldn't have scored on those 2 drives where Trindon took it back to the house.

And even if both of those returns were erased and the Bronco's went 3-and-out doesn't mean the bronco's lose by 2 scores or lose at all for that matter.

Can't just be subtracting scores with that "well if so and so didn't do this or that" argument to prove anything...

Shocking, another argument that somehow goes to Manning and the same individuals posting the same stuff

I said it before if NT was around when Marino played you would've thought he was one of the worst QBs in the league. Can't imagine the hate he would get

All about playoff wins until a QB that has those is discussed but NT doesn't like and then it is a team game. Like clockwork

But we do know manning didnt lead them to victory

I was thinking about this just as I was typing my last post. There's a healthy list of great NFL QB's who have never won a SB that NT would probably love.

Good news is they know Bradhsaw is one of the greatest and Ben is up there as well. All about wins :smokin

s.

Yeah man they did

The defense and the running game. Rhodes shouldve got the Super Bowl MVP. Peyton played like Alex Smith those playoffs but it really doesnt matter he carried the Colts for so many games, they owed him

So?  That has nothing to do with what I was saying.

People always want to MMQB and say "if this play in Q2 didn't happen" or "if so and so caught the ball for a TD in Q3 they would have won the game" when that's simply not accurate.

A little late, but I'd bet the house that Titus Young is bipolar and going through a manic phase right now. Somebody needs to step in and get him evaluated.
