"Then one of the best front 7's took out 2 30 something LBers for 2 faster, younger guys that are better at blitzing. They add Jordan opposite Wake while still getting Vernon some more coaching as well, then trade in Sean Smith for a healthy Richard Marshall, Brent Grimes and Jamar Taylor while also improving the pass rush a bit outside of just Wake."

This is what will keep Miami in each and every game. That front 7 is stout and they've only improved from last year. It's also been clear for awhile now that Miami can play with anybody in their division, New England included. If Dion can contribute at ANY level opposite Cam Wake...wow.

san fran first team to ever play in the super bowl when their city hosts it?

So Miami should finish no worse than second in the division, correct?

Yes, in division they should not need to worry about Buffalo or the Jets.

I will now go drink gas as I am probably cursing the **** out of my franchise.

As I said last night, 9 wins is what I envision. Enough to show growth, not enough to plan a parade route or anything. There is still work to be done on our roster. OT, DT, and S the 3 areas we'll look at in the draft with OG being in the mid rounds somewhere.

With luck, we stretch it to 10, but I expect us to cough up a game or two we "should" win, so 9 is where I look to.

JJ Watt: Love the volunteer work and community outreach you perform admirably in the offseason.
saw the article that about him visiting the kid who attends school from home i see?

CP: How much faith do you have in Tanny's growth?

I imagine Dolphins fans would want him to end up being better than Dalton and Bradford types.

i thought he would greatly struggle coming out of college having seen him play at TAMU. he actually surprised me. thankfully they've given him weapons to work with now. i don't ever expect him to be a great quarterback, but he should develop quite well.

Yes, I mentioned Ozzie in a much earlier post.

I'm taking Smith and Reese over Schneider though.

Smith and Reese are my NFL equivalent of Ujiri and Cho.

Marvin Lewis has been a phenomenal GM (even though the title doesn't exist). To make Cincy consistently relevant is a miracle

I miss the Cowher/Colbert combo

I did not want him pre draft. But we took him, so so be it. I had wanted a QB from this class, and look how that turned out, so right about now, I feel really lucky with Tannehill.

He took down Russell Wilson and the Seahawks, and he would have beaten Luck in Indy if Sean Smith didn't drop a GIMME int. :smh:

The kid has moxy. Point blank, he wants it. Philbin loves him because he works harder than anyone, he took the job from Moore/Garrard last year in camp (thank God that happened)

Quite simply, he had no help last year. He made Brian Hartline a 1,000 reciever just off his connection with someone out there.

He'll still need a few more, Wallace alone is not the answer, part of why a lot of Miami fans (led by myself) wanted Tavon Austin. Austin, Wallace, Hartline, Lamar Miller, Keller would have been FUN for the kid, but oh well, DIon Jordan will help Wake out as well, so either way.

He needs to get his footwork a little better so that he can place the ball a bit better, but arm wise, he has it. Now he might get to actually use it.

I don't have him on the Dalton/Bradford plane, I have him on the Flacco/Ryan career arc. And I think Philbin can get him there. If Miami keeps building the right way, and adds to Wallace/Hart/Miller longterm with picks/signings next year, maybe Sims gets in on that, maybe Rishard Mathews can develop, then he could have that GB type system, fast paced, spread the ball around, quick reads, stretch the defense to the limits. Tannehill can be very very good, even being the 3rd-4th best QB of his own class.

Jim Kelly was the 3rd best of his class, and worked out alright, we're hopin for somethin similar. (except I'd trade the 4 SB L's for 1 lonely win.)
