Nah man your tripping. When healthy I got Greg top 7ish, maybe top 5, at the very least top 3 though.

Top 3? Lol I think calvin, fitz and AJ have a few words for you. But I have to back track, I checked dudes stats and he may very well be top ten material.

Someone really thinks a injury prone WR on the decline playing with Christian Ponder is better than Dez Bryant? A guy who is just starting to touch his potential?

I like Jennings...
And I don't even like the Cowboys.
But c'mon man...

It's NT. I've come to expect this type of nonsense.

Remember, Dez Bryant is overrated though.

More rule changes to ruin the game, perfect. I never understood why they try to protect players that voluntarily play the game. This just in, football is a rough sport

Because the NFL is currently facing 2000 lawsuits (literally).

Plus voluntary or not, I never want to see guys get hurt. Of course the NFL wants to protect their employees, you ever hear of OSHA?

I'm sure your job has safe rules in place. My dad was director of occupational safety for a construction company for a long time....since those construction workers voluntarily took that job, do they not deserve to have their safety looked out for?

But I guess your entertainment is more important than another persons quality of life
No one in your dad's company was slamming their heads against any support beams intentionally to get their job done, though.
no, and this rule will make sure that no NFL players are doing it.

But if you don't think there are stupid workplace accidents by guys trying to cut time/increase efficiency, then you're crazy. Either way, the NFL has much more of a responsibility to its employees than it does to the fans. And as I mentioned earlier, I have ZERO desire to see players get hurt, or have traumatic brain injuries for my entertainment
Alright, finally gotta say this...

I don't really disagree with most of what you're saying, at least the nuts and bolts of it... But during this whole thing you keep asking people if they "don't think doctors were involved", "think Roger Goodell just made this rule up", "don't think there are stupid workplace accidents" etc. etc.

I think you can get your point across better without the underlying condescension.

I find myself wanting to argue against you because of the way you're going about it.

And stupid workplace accidents on construction sites or any other workplace =/= these "leading with the crown of the helmet" hits.

Calvin Johnson
Fitz
Aj green
Brandon Marshall
Wes walker
Damerious Thomas
Are all better than Jennings IMO with a few others on the same level

I'm not trying to condescend, but its a pretty well known fact in the football/medical community that helmets are the number one leading cause of concussions.

Helmet to helmet hits causes the brain to impact the skull, causing a concussion. That damage is intensified when the impact is on the top of the helmet. The facemask absorbs alot of impact when hits are taken from that direction

A real life example is in the military, to haze us, they did something called "turtle f'ing". Its when take a helmet and smacks you on top of your helmet with it. Its so illegal because there are hundreds of cases of concussions, and I've personally witnessed a guy get serious brain damage from it.

Glad someone agrees. And I thought the whole packers wideouts being up top was a running joke.

If im building a franchise, im taking Dez but for the 2013 season im taking greg. Yall act like dez didnt just recently prove himself.

give me any wr + aaron rodgers..

greg jennings gonna be on a milk carton with ponder throwing him the rock...

cant wait to see arod turn some dude we never heard of into a top 3 receiver next year....clockwork..

laugh.gif
@jennings putting up percy numbers...majority of percys 'catches' were glorified runs..at or behind the line of scrimmage...jennings is a bomb receiver but hes just that..a receiver. i expect a MAJOR falloff in production

I have to agree. Randall Cobb (fake *** percy) comes to mind. Arod is helping folks shine.

so that Bradshaw run for a TD vs the Jets two seasons ago before their superbowl run would be illegal now (when he lowered his helmet) ?

Such a dumb rule man, I love watching physical RB's like Alfred Morris, Trent, Ahmad, etc. :smh: :x

WR Discussion, yesssss

^Urlacher equal to Ray Lewis?

I know people will use the ring arguments.

Urlacher is HOFer. He was to the Bears what Ray was to the Ravens.

Didn't catch any bodies either.

Urlacher gets undermined so much, such an old school player.

If he was screaming, yelling, reciting the bible, dancing on the field like a tool, he would probably be more popular.

So disrespectful Chicago.

I was talking to my brother yesterday and I was telling him I really don't see what everybody see with Percy...

Maybe I just haven't watched him enough. Could it be that he's not your typical WR?

Like dude up there just said most of his catches are glorified runs. But does he deserve to be mentioned with the Top WRs?

you can be physical without using the top of your helmet. See that Bettis run in the last page or 2. No running back ever has been coached to use their helmet. That is how you get serious neck/spine/head injuries.

But I guess its dumb because you want to see it

A lot of times the contact is incidental to begin with, and you're just putting even more pressure on the refs to make more judgment calls on the field if a RB lowers his head/shoulder. Its the worst even seeing defensive players going to make a tackle and helmets collide accidentally, and the team is penalized.

In 10 years.

how can you incidentally hit somebody with the TOP of your helmet. Not the forehead area, the actual top of the helmet? Thats done on purpose, and its not related to lowering your shoulder at all

if you're trying to break tackles with your head down, then you're asking to be seriously hurt

I really don't see how what Chicago offered as being disrespectful. The guy is a shell of his former self. You can't just throw money at someone because of the player they once were. If it meant that much to Urlacher to stay in Chicago then he would have accepted the offer and retired a Bear, I will be shocked if anyone offers him that much more money, he just isn't worth it at this stage in his career.

I understand what you are trying to say, but I completely disagree. Football players play knowing they are putting themselves at risk. It isn't really comparable to a construction job where things that happen are accidents, you aren't out there throwing yourself in front of things on a construction site ready to be taken down. I understand player safety is a concern, but lets not act like these dudes didn't sign up for this without knowing the long term risks. Football is a mans game, over the past 5 years or so they have slowly started turning it soft, before you know it we are going to be watching some damn flag football. It is the same with a lot of sports. For example the NBA is almost unwatchable with the ***** stuff I see in every game, players flopping left and right, fouls being called on the littlest of contact.

its easy to call it "a mans game" when you're watching from home. But 20 years down the line, when these guys can't walk, have early onset dementia (Brian Westbrook is experiencing it now), ect....is it ever worth it? Like it was mentioned earlier, 30 years ago it was legal to clothesline guys, they banned it, and we havent missed it since.

And once again, running with your head down, leading with the crown of your helmet is not a fundamental of football. you're taught to run with eyes up, and you can lower your shoulder and keep your eyes up.

And also, the fact that the fans want to see it, doesnt negate the right to a decent quality of life after football that these guys deserve. If you voluntarily signed your kids up for football, would you teach them to run like that?

No chance my kid is playing football

I think the point that is often made is these players DIDN'T understand the long term effects, because the effects are seemingly much more serious than originally thought. I'm all for old school football, I think the game greatly declined for many reasons. But this rule change I'm cool with

You're also for clotheslines and illegal hits, apparently
