pressure's on freeman to deliver this year...cannot have an off year with all this talent. needs to play well (which he is clearly capable of).

Definitely . He is also playing for a new contract. Hopefully he handles the pressure well and balls out. I really want him to stay a Buc. Getting him a intermediate target would be a big help.

Paying Revis 16m, and then having to pay a young QB? could be some problems.

Even after the Revis deal we have close to $20 mill left in cap space. Mark Dominik has been really good with how he's put together contracts. Either Freeman shows he's the franchise quarterback we expect him to be, or we'll be picking a new quarterback in the 1st round of the draft next year. With the amount of talent that our offense has as is, plus with the additions on defense he has no excuse to not atleast lead the team to the playoffs this year.

If Revis balls out there is no way he going to be cool with playing on a non-guaranteed contract no matter how high the number.

The contract he signed is only there to make sure he is getting paid while Tampa or Revis decide what to do next.

And why is that?

I'm pretty skeptical about defensive backs being able to stay elite for a long period of time. They always seem to shine brightest for just a while and then fade rather quickly. Nnamdi is a good example of this, same with someone like DeAngelo Hall.

Revis made his name over the past 3-4 seasons and then had a very serious injury. He then agrees to a huge contract that is completely incentive-laden? And the Bucs throw in another pick if Revis is on the roster March 3 of next year? Sounds like multiple parties involved with this are skeptical about him being the same. I'm guessing that the guaranteed money part was a sticky point for the Bucs and Revis, so Revis' camp asked to forego guarantees and asked for huge potential money.

If Revis does great, then great. I just don't see it happening.

My only thing with the Bucs is who the hell is going to get to the passer?

Jesus Christ can't cover NFL receivers for 15 seconds.

Vikings and Lions

Had we had even an AVERAGE secondary we would have won atleast 3 more games. 6 of our 9 losses were by 7 or less points. For most of the season EJ Biggers (drafted in the 7th round) was our only cornerback that we put on the field that was even drafted. We're also getting back maybe the two best guards in football in Carl Nicks and Davin Joseph, who were out for basically the entire year. Freeman in a contract year, Doug Martin, VJax, Penn, Nicks, Joseph, McCoy, David, Revis, Goldson, Ronde, Barron.....a lot of potential Pro-Bowlers on this team. Bucs are putting all their eggs in the pass rush department in Bowers, Clayborn and most likely a pass rusher they take in either the 2nd or 3rd round.

Im worried about that also but Clayborn coming back so that will help a lot, also with revis I'm expecting more blitzes. Bucs also need a Right tackle, Dotson is a good swing tackle but he's no the answer. What's going on with Andre Smith?

I respect that.

Peyton Mannings contract was set up almost exactly the same, but does Revis get all that money like Peyton will if he has a successful 1st season or will it still be a year by year type situation?

Imo, I think Revis will become like nhamdi tbh

good move by the bucs. a hungry revis to prove himself and his contract is not guaranteed. that division will crazy next season.

Enjoy him, Baltimore.

Rolando McClain of the Baltimore Ravens was arrested Sunday night and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to WHNT News, McClain was in his hometown of Decatur, Georgia at Pines Park when a large group gathered. Police ordered McClain and several other people to leave, and witnesses said McClain not only refused to do so, but began cursing at the officers.

McClain was handcuffed and taken to the city jail before bonding out a short time later.

McClain signed with the Ravens earlier this month after being released by the Oakland Raiders. In January, McClain was arrested in Decatur because of a window-tint violation and reportedly gave a false name to the police.
