I'm pretty skeptical about defensive backs being able to stay elite for a long period of time. They always seem to shine brightest for just a while and then fade rather quickly. Nnamdi is a good example of this, same with someone like DeAngelo Hall.

 

Nnamdi played in the wrong system. and hall was never elite

I think the deal is worth the risk for TB and the Jets it all they could. If TB didn't happen they would've been screwed

Revis and TB won. Revis gets 16 mil this year, if he performs....he gets another good year of pay. As long as he performs well each year, the Bucs will pay him. If they decide not to pay him, he'll be picked up by another team for good money since he played well. It's a cycle.


Also,

Mark Sanchez has one of the worst contracts of all time. I know it's not a 100 mil contract BUT the reason it's so bad is they gave him that we feel sorry for you extension and want you to feel better. They can't cut him, it's 17 mil they owe this year. If they didn't give him that extension, they could have cut him and only paid him 2 mil.
