Rex calls Sanchez’s OTA interceptions “unacceptable”

Jets coach Rex Ryan says quarterback Mark Sanchez made too many mistakes at today’s Organized Team Activities, and he simply must improve.

Sanchez threw three interceptions in his 11 passes during today’s OTAs, and Ryan told reporters afterward that he considers that “unacceptable.” Ryan said Sanchez also made some good throws, but that Ryan feels the need to be candid enough to tell Sanchez when his mistakes are glaring.

“This is OTAs and things, but yeah, that’s going to be the pressure that we’re putting on him,” Ryan said. “He did a lot of great things. It’s not that you try to cover up the fact you had some bad plays — no, no, no you flat tell him. We can’t have these and all that type of stuff. He knows.”

Ryan liked the way his defense played, but he’d prefer not to see his quarterback throwing that many passes to the guys in the different colored jerseys.

“It’s a good thing defense makes the plays, but no, I’d rather him not turn the ball over once,” Ryan said. “He did a lot of great things, and then those negative things, at the end of the day, that’s what gets you beat. And so we’ve got to to do a better job of eliminating those turnovers.”

People doubting Boldin in here

Son has been a stud since day one in the league. Fitz was just a bigger body and Arizona didn't want to keep them both. Boldin went to Bal and played with an average QB and terrible OC. Great move by SF with or without Crabtree's injury.

Is Miami running at 3-4 or 4-3 this year??? I saw wake playing a lot of DE last year and Jordan will be good at DE or pAss rush lb....

4-3.

Irony is they have a lot of pieces to play a 3-4, so we could be seeing some switching back and forth maybe. But their base is 4-3.

Why shouldn't they doubt him? What's he done without a good deep threat on the other side? He did great with fitz in the other side. But before Baltimore got Torrey smith he was in the shadows

Hasn't hit 1000yds in 3 years. "Stud" WR do that no matter the QB let alone Joe Flacco.

Maybe he is the worst quarterback in the league. Matt Flynn, Blaine Gabbert you're moving up the rankings

Now RG3's father is saying he shoulda been pulled out of the playoff game. They need to shut the hell up about it and move on. It's almost June.

It's beating a dead horse at this point.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

This isn't RG3's dad's call to make.

Both RG3 and Shanahan said they would have handled things differently, so it should be water under the bridge. What's done is done.

While both of you make valid points and I somewhat agree with both of you, I think the father is just standing up for his son.  Also, pointing and pushing the blame back onto Shanahan to make sure his son's is protected, or protected more going forward.

It's June.

What's the purposing of bringing this up now and saying anything MONTHS after the fact.

If he was concerned and worried about his soon should've said something back then.

Now he's saying to get people to talk about RG3 or to prepare people incase he doesn't come back as quick and people begin to question it ala D. Rose.

This is why family, friends, baby moms , etc need to stay away from the media.

If I heard right on NFL All Access last night, they made a comment that Sanchez said he doesn't want to feel like he will lose his job if he throws an interception.

Time to grow up, dude. You don't have the leverage to be judged like that with your play. Peform or ride the pine. That's it.

His son is 23, and in any other profession at that age a dad standing up like that against his son's boss is viewed as absolutely pathetic.

Sit down, pops.
