So I forgot to post about this the other night when I saw it on NFL Network.
Cam ******g Newton is rated in the top 50 players in the league for 2013?! Dude is one of the most physically talented players in the entire league...but putting him in the top 50 players for this year is a damn joke. Putting him ahead of Ngata, Eli, Big Ben, Tony Gonzalez, Russell Wilson, Doug Martin, Vincent Jackson, Duane Brown, Jared Allen and Alfred Morris?.....with 19 TD's, 12 INT's and 10 fumbles on a 7-9 team? Josh Freeman's team had the same record and he had 27 TD's and 17 INT's and he isn't even on the list.

Only thing is people are remembering how Russ ended the year and not the mediocrity to start. I would take Russell over almost anyone, but with this specific list, I can see how Cam may be ranked higher. Won't happen this next year though.

cam is not a better quarterback than russell
far more gifted , by a mile.....but not better
whatever you evaluate quartebacks on wilson
ace's with flying colors ... footwork , arm , IQ ,
decision making , leadership etc
could cam eventually put it togethor...perhaps

alot of gm's would take cam over wilson for just potential alone then you throw in his physical tools and marketability its a wrap.

So if Wilson goes into a sophomore slump then what ? And in sure 9 out of 10 times in a draft Gms will take cam over Wilson

Peep the Avy, I'm as big a Russell Trillson fan as they come, but GM would take Cam 9 times outta 10 over Wilson in a heartbeat

I never said I'd take Freeman over Cam, I was just saying that Freeman had 8 more TD's, 200 more passing yards, the same 7-9 record and actually beat them both times this year and he isn't even on the list period while Cam is in the top 50. Freeman actually had the Bucs as the #1 ranked offense in the league for 5 weeks straight. If we're going by Cam's rookie year then sure put him in the top 50. But no way in hell does he deserve to be there for this past season.

cam has the god given ability that many do not have. but there is more than talent to being a qb in the nfl. peyton does not have the raw talent that cam has. it is the leadership and smartness that comes into play along with talent. i just do not see a winner in cam. everyone has an opinion but thats mine.

I would at least let some of this upcoming season play out b4 i compare Wilson (or any other rookies from last year) to Cam and the rest of the league....Dont forget how high everybody was on Cam going into his 2nd year...

no question that these rookie qb's have plenty to prove still. even keapernick which is everyones darling has lots to prove and has to prove it with one of the worst wr core in the nfl.

Something tells me a big headline this year will be Kaepernick has a bad season while Alex Smith leads the Chiefs to the playoffs.

could very well be true. 49ers need someone to step up to catch the ball in the worst way. seahawks much improved and dont think rams will be pushover with fisher. nfc is real deep.

A lot of teams in the NFC will be tougher this year...I see them potentially missing the playoffs unless the Seahawks have a hangover from last year.
