I don't think I've ever seen so many excuses given to one player in my life.

But why tho?

Is the world going to end if people admit Romo is an average QB? :nerd: Srs

But we rarely judge the quality of a football player just based off stats. Stats are deceiving, I think that was the point many are making. Observations go a long way in a sport like football

Jets going to make Geno Smith a Read-Option change of pace QB. Rex Ryan wateryewdoing?

Not sure if that is Tony now or not, I think Romo is a pretty good QB honestly

i've always thought he was talented and a pretty good QB. he just has a knack for losing focus at the worst of times. i don't think he's a QB that can carry a team (and for the record, i don't think Eli is that type of QB either). by the end of last year, i was pretty done defending romo. you just can't continue to do the things he does and expect to win. i'd like to see him do well though.

But I don't care what the stats are-

"Bu... But look at his stats"

im not mad at people who dont look at stats...

what i dont get is, if you ignore and openly mock the stats, then what are you basing your analysis on??  the eye test??

perception?!?!?

You base it on everything. Stats, eye test, etc. You gotta take everything into account. Nobody is denying Romo's talent, he can put up great numbers when he's on his game. But your boy falls apart at the worse times every season. He gets y'all close enough then he screws it up.

How many times does he have to broke heart VA?

Cam newton the falcons fan

"D. Orlando Ledbetter asked Newton, in an interview after the Cam Newton Foundation's "Fun Day" at a YMCA in southwest Atlanta, about the difficulties of playing his hometown team.

Q: The Panthers came pretty close to sweeping the Falcons last season. How tough is it playing your hometown team?

A: It's always a heavily critiqued game. ... I've always been a Falcons fan, and I'm still a Falcons fan except for those two times a year."

It's a combination of many things, including stats.  Not stats alone.  In fact, your claim that Tony Romo is better than Eli Manning and Joe Flacco is probably a good example of why stats alone aren't always the best example of player success.

Also, playoff victories happens to be a stat as well.
