The Eagles players should not have shown so much PUBLIC support behind Cooper on this one.  Let Riley Cooper suffer the consequences.

The NFL Offseason summed up in one photo:

700

They know him personally, you don't

Let them make their own decisions

Agreed.

I think Cooper is a POS, but i'm on the outside looking in. There's also a reason why there seems to be a divide in the Eagles locker room as far as guys willing to forgive and others who aren't.

I honestly would have had no idea that was Riley Cooper if he was standing right next to me. Whoever made that video was more than likely a friend of his or a chick he was trying to get with at the concert.

And this

No one knows Riley here.

For all we know he could be the biggest racist and bigot and had his own KKK cell running out of Philly.

OR dude was drunk and pissed and said something he knew would get a reaction and would piss off / hurt someone.

And don't say "well his tone in the video" :rolleyes

Dude was 1000% wrong but the eagles know what their doing, and it's not like he's come huge integral part of the franchise and they are pushing this under the rug.

I had a feeling the usual suspects would be in here trying to give Riley Cooper a pass on this one.

Sorry some men don't make decisions based off emotions and can have a logical thought process.

Had I not known any better I would've sworn this was JJB with some of the responses and reactions.

As far as "consequences," dude will have a target on his back from here on out. Think about it....this dude said the N' word out of hate, and is part of a business where 70% of it's employees are black  :smh: He's gonna be killed.

Who gave him a pass? You are judging his teammates for their own decisions

I said they should cut him but I'm not his teammate so let them make their own mind up

You are always arguing with someone, you need a hug bro

You said I don't know Riley Cooper personally, as if I or anyone else needs to PERSONALLY know someone in order to make an assessment on them.  Like I said earlier, Riley Cooper said everything I need to know about him in that video clip.  If you want to overlook that, give Riley a second chance, or anything or the sort then that's on you.

As far as the comment I made regarding his teammates, be it a public relations move or not, I don't like when black people give the impression that racism or racist comments are okay or it's just something that should be dealt with nonchalantly, or treated minimally.  Especially how black people seem to be the first ones on the battlefield to try and protect when a situation like this occurs.  As if Riley Cooper went a few miles over the speeding limit or something.  No need to stand in front of the camera as if they truly support Riley behind this.  As we see from this report given to us by DoubleJ's below that everything is NOT okay in the Eagles locker room regarding this situation................

Eagles player I texted with yesterday, this morning on Riley Cooper: "Not every player has forgiven. Not by a long shot."

You constantly change what you are arguing about to try and prove your point

What part of they should cut him can't you comprehend?

Eagles players aren't talking because coaches hate distractions and no one wants to be the guy. Oh your comments now have our team a the latest racial relations issue. I appreciate your ideals gonna have to cut you though

I'm not changing anything and I'm certainly not arguing.  Also, I said "if" you to overlook this, with the key word being "if".

You put the "if" in there to suggest I think it's okay that he did this, I know why you did it when I clearly stated my thoughts in here multiple times.

He only made 490k last year. He'll feel the fine a bit. The rest of the consequences, he'll feel on the field. If maclin didn't tear his acl, he probably would've been cut.

I still think he may be cut when it's all said and done

The fine was before he acknowledged it was towards an African American, I'm sure this is an intense topic in the front office right now

15k outta 490k isn't much infact its a little over 3% of his pay..... that equivalent to someone making 30k a year and taking 30 bucks out of their yearly income. So its not even a slap on this wrist. As far as cutting him, I agree when compared to many other actions etc..... that players don't get suspended let alone cut ie...dui's, domestic crimes, so forth and so on....cutting him etc would be really harsh.

I also think that Riley Cooper is easily replaceable. If he's cut (on top of this racist mess), he's going to have an uphill battle as far as getting another job in the league. As a matter of fact, this might be the last we see of Cooper playing football in the NFL.
