i think he is talking about the atlanta game last year. in which the DB's did pretty well for what they had to work with
Ah, got it.  Fair- missing Clemons hurt a lot.

I'm not sure the Bucs secondary is going to be as good as the hype.  Goldson wasn't perfect in coverage and Barron wasn't really even good last year.

tampa had the best rush defense, worst pass defense last year..its safe to say they sured up their weak spots.

barron was a rookie, nd tho he didnt make that immediate 1st day impact say earl thomas or eric berry made, he showed he can fit in this league nd probably will live up to the hype..

whatever you say about goldson he was an all pro last year...

if tampa can somehow someway find a pass rush, that defense will be scary ..hell, if the DBs perform accordingly tampas D will be nasty with or without a pass rush(word to seattle)..

rgiii just keeps bringing unneeded attention. dude needs to stay out of the spotlight and refer all question about him playing to mike. let him deal with it.

Wow...an actual thoughtful post about the Bucs that didn't come from me or the other 2 Bucs fans on here. Everybody else in here is just like "nah Revis, Goldson, Clayborn, Nicks and Davin Joseph won't help them at all"

Drew Brees lights everyone up. We'll see how things look with Revis and Goldson on the field though. Nobody knows at this point.

Supposebly Revis will see some action against the Dolphins in Week 3 of the preseason.

Both those dudes are good at enforcing the middle and playing the run but if receivers have time to run down field because the QB has all day to throw they food.

Oh and whole Tampa had the best run defense has to stop. People didn't run the ball because they didn't have to.

Detroit had the 2nd best passing offense last year because they couldn't run the ball.

Now if that line can generate pressure its gonna get ugly. :x

Dudes ain't going over the middle.

Goldson's specialty isn't pass coverage but you don't become an All-Pro by being "food" in coverage.

The whole "Mark Barron not being any good last year" **** needs to stop too. The secondary we had was the WORST I have ever seen in my life...nobody could have looked good consistently in that. 7th round pick EJ Biggers was the only drafted corner that was getting playing time and undrafted rookie free agent Leonard Johnson was covering #1 receivers. And Barron still managed to make some really nice plays at times in coverage and play the run extremely well for a rookie. He had two game saving pass deflections against the Panthers and Falcons last year too.

Not saying the secondary couldn't be great, just saying that based on the facts this second there's no reason to assume it will be.

Depending on:

Goldson being great, not making mistakes in coverage
Barron improving to play at a blue chip level
Revis being healthy and as good after missing a year
A rookie being a good 2nd corner without huge growing pains

All of those are far from guaranteed. But you will be better than last year.

And last year we were 7-9...Revis, Goldson, Clayborn, Davin and Nicks should mean playoffs this year. Really all falls on our pass rush though which I have the least confidence in. Hope Bowers proves me wrong.

The 9ers really about to cut Jenkins?

It's now or never. Can't baby this guy we are trying to win a ring. Don't keep him just to save face if its time to move on then so be it. I think the time has come. Hated the pick but can't be mad the FO has been money with the last 3 drafts.

He has literally had ZERO production. Dude is struggling to impress with Crabtree and Manningham out, and Kyle Williams JUST got back from injury. He's out there battling with PS players and rookies. There are reports that he's been the least impressive of the bunch.

First round pick a year ago.

They took a chance on him and it didn't work out. But with Baalke's and Harbaugh's track record, I'll let them take as many chances as he wants.
