just because the Packers haven't had as many Superbowl appearances/wins as the Pats doesn't negate the similarities in which they run an organization or the fact that they've still been succesful. It's very hard to win the Superbowl. Also you can't say the McCarthy Era and then say they've made it to 1 Superbowl in the last 17 years when the McCarthy era started in 2006. An era where he has only failed to reach the playoffs twice, which was 2006 his very first year as the coach, (made the NFCC the next) and 2008 Aaron Rodgers first year starting (pretty reasonable). What's funny is the more I type this the more random similarities I'm thinking of. Both Belichick and McCarthy went from potential Hall of Fame QB to another. Both Belichick and McCarthy came close to having an undefeated season with the NY Giants ending it, albeit in a different fashion. Actually the Giants have crushed both Belichick and McCarthys Superbowl hopes twice. 2007,2011 for the Packers, 2009,2011 for the Patriots. Both have cut players with simplicity, not just the Pats. Chad Johnson? We cut ******g Brett Favre  Woodson came here because no one wanted him. He was arrogant, voiced his displeasure, grew to love the place, then we cut him. We said buh bye to Greg Jennings like the Pats did to Welker. And spy gate/ having a murderer on your team is just as bad, definitely worse, than a publicized break with a QB, or our QB being friends with a steroid user. Actually the spy gate controversey and our parting ways with Favre both happened in 2007 and the Hernandez/Rodgers Braun fiasco both happened this year  I never said they don't have to deal with media, every team has to, but they both know how to handle it from letting it become a circus in the locker room and continue to win.

This is all far from important but don't say "objectively" and only discredit the Packers. I mean both their locations have 2....and both of their names even start with .....

"Both happening in 2007". Events that are nothing alike.

An earthquake the magnitude of 8.2 hit Chile in 2007. The Spurs won the NBA title in 2007. They're similar.

Drew Bledsoe in the HOF. Patriots Hall of Fame, easy. Not really a real comparison.

I mentioned the 2000s before the McCarthy/Beichick part. Yeah, winning Super Bowls are hard, you're right. But that's a big reason you're not similar to the Patriots. They were a dynasty from the years of 2001-2004. Name a four-year window of your choice in the past few decades where the Packers have that level of Lombardi success? Since the first season of this millennium, the Patriots have either had the best record in their division or made the playoffs as a Wild Card, with zero exceptions to that either/or. The Packers didn't accomplish close to that in that time range. And it's worth mentioning that the Patriots are still on that streak currently with a high probability of holding it for the foreseeable future.

When you say the organizations are similar, winning has to be the ultimate comparison since that's the biggest association the majority of the population would name when asked for words to describe the Patriots. Green Bay has been great, but they aren't dining with the Unsinkable Molly Brown up in first class just yet. Dinner for 1 is an easy reservation though I'm sure.

But Paul... I don't even have to go back that far to find an example. The Colts were pretty much trying to lose in 2011 in light of the Peyton injury, and that worked out just fine for them. A team seriously can't start Curtis Painter in 8 games and convince anyone they're seriously playing to win.

They're not snake bitten. They're just fine. If today you asked a current Colts player that was on the team in 2011 OR any Colts fan if that season mattered in the grand scheme of things, and how the comfortability of knowing they have Andrew Luck wearing their favorite team's uniform for probably his entire career, feels? Nah, they should've signed some retread that would have led them to triumphantly winning 5 meaningless games and no franchise-altering draft pick.

Despite that example, I'm not advocating purposely playing awful players to lose, try to make this distinction. I'm advocating supporting the choice we made and not just switching and flopping back and forth after a four-quarter sample size. :x

How about showing a bit of faith and investing time into the latest investment? Otherwise yet another "hit the reset button" decision cements the staff and fans and media members alike that advocate that move as panic-driven, impulsive decision makers. The Vikings just signed him a little over two weeks ago, and didn't start him until one day ago. The irony of accusing people of giving up on the season is that pulling Freeman would be a microcosm... giving up on a player. They already gave up on two QBs this season right or wrong, and yet another one now? It might save Spielman and the coaching staff time if they just scream out to the NFL "We have no idea what the **** we are doing here".

Dude, all I said was I respect the Patriots and enjoy seeing them do well because I see similarities with how their organizations go about their business . The Packers have been known to thrive by drafting and developing players like the Patriots. The Packers have been known to run a tight ship and avoid any funny business like the Patriots. I enjoy seeing that process work. No where did I say the Packers have met the same amount of success this past decade as the Patriots. You brought up McCarthy not being as successful as Bill when I never said he was. The only reason I expounded upon that was because you added 10 years of losing to his resume. I said that he has been successful, and there's no arguing that. It's no different than saying the Jets and Cowboys are constantly running a circus. Whether or not one runs a more entertaining circus doesn't mean they're both not doing so.

 OH well, it just looked like you were initially appreciating but then suddenly it started getting into comparisons, so I brought up some differences . But that's just my interpretation of what you wrote, everyone has their own opinion. You have yours.

Moving on to something else. 8)

Josh Freeman might be the first quarterback to get two coaches fired in one year.

I don't think either of our fanbases would really care too much about losing either coach though.

Freeman aint getting Shciano fired, Shiciano getting himself fired. Cant want to get rid of him either way though

They're already starting early with the Dez nonsense on ESPN this morning...

Stephen A. isn't criticizing Dez' comments, but of course this clown Skip is making it a bigger deal than necessary.

HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ANY OTHER ELITE WR WOULDN'T SAY... :rolleyes

Hopped in my truck this morning and turned on my Sirius radio to listen to NFL Radio on my way to work....It's so great. I still think they have yet to mention Dez in regards to what he said. They talk about things that matter....Football things. It's the best.

This is my cool story bro story of the day. *nods*
