Who was the leading rusher on the Colts last year? A rookie. You're right, though... he did have Reggie Wayne.
He also had a rookie who caught 50 balls for 800+ yards, a FA signing who caught 60 for 750+, and two rookie TEs who caught 750+ yards combined.

IMO you cannot call someone a draft bust based on later sustained injuries . and i dont know many "terrible" players who make the pro bowl
also out of curiosity -- could anyone list pick #s for these 1st round busts ? im assuming the later years were higher draft choices based on how good the Colts became in the reg season

Amendola was a terrible pick up. He was a #3 in Stl. Would be a 3 in NE if they weren't so bad.

Braylon Edwards, Marion Barber, Kerry Collins, Ronnie Brown, Matt Schaub, Matt Cassel, Ryan Mathews and Carson Palmer have all made Pro Bowls over the last five to six years. Sorry that I don't hold it in such high regards, nor do I use it as a way to judge a players ability.

Kerry Collins, Schaub, Palmer, Ronnie Brown and Marion Barber are FAR from terrible players. And Palmer was a top 5 QB before the injury. Barber and Brown were outstanding backs before they hit that carry limit. Schaub has never beem terrible beforwe this year, and lead the league in passing a couple seasons ago

Kerry Collins, I never really understood his pro bowls, he never even got invited in his best years. Never a top player, but far from terrible.
Ronnie Browns pro bowl year he had 1170 yards from scrimmage and 10 TDs
Marion Barbers pro bowl year he had 1250 yards from scrimmage and 12 TDs
In Braylon Edwards pro bowl years he had 1289 yards and 16 TDs

There are only two NFL games left this season and one of them will be a complete ***-grabbing joke. It's the Pro Bowl and it will be played this weekend. Players lucky enough to be selected get a free trip to Hawaii, unless they'd rather hang out at home with a suspiciously timed injury. Because of those injuries, both fake and real, and because sometimes the coaches, players and fans just don't get it right, undeserving players end up in the Pro Bowl every year.
This season, all the quarterbacks belong, including Matt Cassel who just got named as a replacement for Tom Brady. In seasons past, though, quarterbacks have gotten Pro Bowl honors for downright dirty performances; one guy even made it with 38 turnovers (Seahawks fans collectively shake their heads). Take a stroll with us down an INT-filled memory lane.
[h2]13. Jake Delhomme (2005)[/h2]
In 2005, Delhomme threw for 24 touchdowns, 16 interceptions and 3,421 yards, with a 88.1 QB rating. Not bad, but he also had 12 fumbles, which together with the INTs means he turned the ball over nearly twice per game all by himself. Not good.

Collins has had a solid career, but his 2008 Pro Bowl nod was undeserved. He led a defensive-minded Titans squad to 12 wins (they were second in the league in points allowed), with 12 touchdowns and seven picks for 2,676 yards and a 80.2 QB rating. So basically, he had a Dilfer-like season. Speaking of...
[h2]11. Trent Dilfer (1997)[/h2]
For a 10-6 squad, Dilfer threw 21 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 2,555 yards, with nine fumbles and a 82.8 QB rating. It got him a ticket to Hawaii, and only a few seasons later he became quarterback for Baltimore's 2000 Super Bowl winner, where his main job was to simply not screw up.
[h2]10. Michael Vick (2005)[/h2]
The old Michael Vick, who by his own admission didn't work very hard, threw for 15 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and 2,412 yards with a 73.1 QB rating in 2005; he also had 596 rushing yards and six touchdowns, but he lost 11 fumbles. He was a nightmare to tackle, but he led his Falcons team to only eight wins.
[h2]9. Kerry Collins (1996)[/h2]
Incredibly, it looks like Collins is taking a nap in this photo of him getting nearly decapitated by the Eagles. I'm not piling on Collins, it's just that he didn't have a Pro Bowl-caliber season in 1996, either. In his sophomore season, he threw for 14 touchdowns, nine picks, 2,454 yards with a 56 percent completion and a 79.4 QB rating. (Troy Aikman didn't exactly have gaudy numbers that season, either, and he got voted in too.)
[h2]8. Gus Frerotte (1996)[/h2]
******** fans just started shaking their heads. Frerotte is best remembered in Washington for the infamous neck-spraining head butt into a wall, not his 1996 Pro Bowl season. In 1996, Gus got voted in with 12 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 3,453 yard, 12 fumbles and a 79.3 QB rating. By way of comparison, another NFC Pro Bowler that season, Brett Favre, had 39 TDs, 13 interceptions, 3,899 yards and a 95.8 rating.
[h2]7. Vince Young (2006)[/h2]
Maturity-challenged Vince Young got voted into the Pro Bowl as a rookie with 12 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 147 yards/game passing, a 51.5 completion percentage and a 66.7 QB rating; he added 552 yards rushing but lost 12 fumbles too. We can all agree that QBs shouldn't make the Pro Bowl in the NFL because they won the National Championship in college, right?
[h2]6. Jim Hart (1977)[/h2]
In 1977, the St. Louis Cardinals four-time Pro Bowler Jim Hart passed for 13 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, 2,542 yards and a 64.3 QB rating. Of course, QB rating isn't everything. For humor's sake, another former Cardinal, Matt Leinart, has a career QB rating of 70.8.
[h2]5. Bobby Thomason (1956)[/h2]
Ready? Thomason threw four touchdowns and 21 (21!) interceptions for the Eagles way back in '56. How does it get any worse than that? Well, it was a different era; Thomason only attempted 164 passes in 10 games that season, when passing was still a novelty. Kind of like Tara Reid in 1999. So it's difficult to judge.
[h2]4. John Hadl (1972)[/h2]
Here's another doozy: six-time Pro Bowler Hadl recorded 15 touchdowns and 26 picks with 175 yards/game in 72. It was good for a 56.7 QB rating. Pro Football Reference noted that the team only went 4-9-1 that year too. At least Hadl wore a pretty badass helment.

Favre got the Pro Bowl nod 11 times over his career, but his 2008 selection was laughable. Along with 22 touchdowns he threw for a league-high 22 picks and lost 11 fumbles in a season where the Jets had a total meltdown that cost Eric Mangini his job. Favre also won an award that season for best director in a single-camera film starring a Hall of Fame quarterback's penis.
[h2]2. Dave Krieg (1989)[/h2]
Pro Football Reference writes, "Krieg was below average according to almost any rate stat measure in 1989, and that doesn't take into account the fact that he set a then-NFL record with 18 fumbles (still fifth all-time)." Krieg also threw 20 interceptions that season, and had what looks like a pretty crappy mustache, and he still got an invite to Hawaii.
[h2]1. Mike Boryla (1975)[/h2]
Boryla only started five games in 1975 and played in two more; he threw six touchdowns and 12 interceptions in the seven games while amassing 142 yards a game. Pretty terrible, but he got called in as an injury replacement. Go ahead and stare in awe at his incredible '70s mustache. Maybe that's what Krieg was after.

From what I have heard, the last few years of the Polian regime, Chris Polian was making the picks, not Bill. But even so, I'm sure Bill had a voice and he too whiffed a lot the last few years. IMO

SoundFX is one of my favorite sports related programs. Yeah it's edited, but just think of how much more you learn about guys you probably wouldn't hear candid, ever. Guys that get coached up in interviews, and you really never see their true selves.
