Tim Ryan nailed it with saying the Hawks are making it easier on Ponder by giving him soft zone looks. Ponder is still a starter in the NFL and you give him the middle of the field, he'll rack up yards with dump-offs and middle of the field passes to the RB/TE all day. His biggest weakness is being accurate while in the pocket and against tight man coverage. No confidence in that regard. Seattle needs to tighten the coverage.

Yeah, this zone isn't a good look right now.

And honestly, after thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks were preparing for Josh Freeman (Ponder was iffey early on with shoulder dislocation). Potential for a much higher passing volume with him as the starter, especially with how much he passed in his only game with MN. Just a thought...

No surprise if they adjust.
