NFL Discussion Thread - Hall of Fame Game: August 3rd

Rough game to watch. Can't remember when's the last time I saw Brees look that bad. Offensive line has been terrible this year. The stats might not show it, but I've been at every home game and watched all the others. Outside rush is KILLING us.

The Sherman cheap shot really rubbed me the wrong way because I actually like Richard Sherman. I think if you back up your talk with your play, then you can and should talk as much as you want. But to blindside a receiver for no reason and then complain? Wack.

The Saints need to run the ball more when they're in passing formations, not just run the ball more. Our playcalling was vanilla tonight.

:smokin to the Seahawks though. Good old fashioned *** kicking. We had our chances. Jimmy had a big drop. Corey White dropped a simple interception when it was 10-0. Beast Mode actually was in check, but we let Russy do too much. Can't give up big plays.

Good analysis.

I agree about the rarity of seeing Brees struggle like that, but reading your post also makes me think of the rarity in seeing Graham play as poorly as he did. I say poorly loosely because there were good defensive plays on him, but he still usually comes down with a lot of those catches.

I think he's in the discussion. If he keeps rolling like he is and the Eagles win the division or even make the playoffs then, yeah..He's in this.

And you're right. Alex should be. I was asking to get help with the list as well.

I agree. We've seen it happen before and especially last year. It was silly to bring up AP around Week 13 last year then the momentum kept building into Weeks 15, 16, then 17 locked it up.

“@ESPNNFL: The Seahawks clinched a playoff spot with tonight's win. They can go 2-2 over their last four games and still get the No. 1 seed in the NFC.”

They can also go 1-3 and still get the #1, as long as neither Carolina nor New Orleans goes 4-0 (basically, those two would have to split their games). Under that scenario, I think that one win would pretty much have to be against the Niners though. Better to think of it as needing to just go 2-2 lol.

Can't say I'm surprised at tonight's game. I thought Seattle would win easy but not a blowout like this.

Seriously though. Who has New Orleans beat on the road that's significant over the past few seasons. Their unstoppable in the dome but they become human when its time to hit the road.

That's what they said last year...I know you remember...

AP :pimp:

Yea but AP had a GODLY season..

no one this year is having on enough to overshadow Manning.

Seems only time Payton loses the award is if someone just has a god like year, like Brady and the 16-0 year

We all know the media wanted to give it to Manning last year. They had it all set up perfectly in their minds.. then Peterson just started beasting too much for them to ignore.

It's gonna be the same this year. It's already set up for Manning, unless someone starts going NUTS until the media can't ignore them, #18 will get #5

That Seattle performance last night was :wow: all 3 phases they flat out dominated...this could be their year

Saint Nick coming for Peyton's 20 consecutive TD record this weekend :smokin

Saw the Cardinals sent 15 plays to the league office for review    Take your L and go home. Hope Tavon torches them next week, that's absurd. Didn't know Arians whined like this :smh:

Too Trill

it will be an interesting race the last four games

Brady has been extremely impressive the past four weeks , but even if he continues to play at this level i doubt he gets the award based on the first half of the season

Foles is definitely in the conversation , although i doubt he wins it . dude is by far the most efficient QB in the league and has the Eagles rolling

I think Cam Newton is a very good candidate based on how big of a turnaround that team has made this year. Peyton will get it because you simply can't deny those numbers but Russell and Cam are just as worthy IMO

this is apparently 1 of the plays sent in:

i mean it's not like all the calls went the eagles way.. see desean's punt return td or shady's long run that would have iced the game

They actually have the most road wins in the league since 2009. This narrative about both Seattle and NO is wrong.

Now, I don't know about their dome vs. outdoor record.

whatever happens.. i hope we get to bounce back like the colts. :smh:
