I don't have final numbers yet but am reporting for @FOXSports that #bears qb jay cutler's new deal averages 18M for 1st 3 yrs, source says
IS THIS REAL LIFE!?!?!?!??

No way they get Jeffery now, he'll demand a top tier salary.

Jeffrey still has another 2 years before his contract can negotiated, Marshall will be 31 and won't be able to demand significant money and if he does they'll keep the younger option.

Bruh that cutler news made me spit my water out   they didn't waste a single second  I'm sorry but dude is average at best, got a cannon but he's not a really good qb

They're stuck with Cutler for 7 more years and they're giving him THAT kinda money.

He's a nice QB with a strong arm but that's it. The best thing we can say about Cutler is that Matt and Vince turned out to be busts.

 at the Packers response. Brutal and says a lot. Sorta like AFCN fans with that Flacco contract

realistically, did they even have a choice though?

They didn't have to give him seven years but I see what you're saying.

You trusting McCown going forward? Or you gonna pay Vick? I don't think there are any decent QB's outside of him that you're going to start on the market.

Unless they're gonna draft one.

licensed to ball licensed to ball
you're right. they should bank their future on a 34 year old career back up quarterback, who's contemplated retiring within the last week.

and then there's this:

"top free agent QBs left for '14: 1 Mike Vick 2 Josh McCown 3 J Freeman 4 Shaun Hill 5 C Henne 6 Tarvaris Jax"

it's a QB driven league, and they have one. pretty hard to just let that go and set yourself back, or praying a QB in the draft pans out.

P proshares

i'm not a fan of 7 years either, but again, they really didn't have many options. not the best move to make, but probably the only move they could make.

Cutlers still better than any QB they could get this offseason... But in a town where the coach comes in and says his first goal is "beat the Packers" they're paying a QB whos 1-8 vs the Packers.

They kind of had to do it but I can see why bears fans would be annoyed.

How the **** does Chicago make that deal? Literally everyone is laughing at you, but they continue to put faith in Cutler. Unbelievable.
