It's EASY to see where Miami came up short.
Again, with all the troubles, bad Oline, couldn't figure out how to use Jordan, 2nd-3rd round CB's out all year, Patterson hurt all year, loss of Keller, Tannehill and Wallace couldn't get on same page for deep ball, allllllllll that, and it was overcome.
What they could not overcome.
Bye week, home game, Buffalo, 3rd string QB. Easy, right? Miami comes out flat, down 14-0, come back to lead with 3 minutes left AND the ball. Kill time, punt, make them go 80 yards. They call pass option, sack, fumble, game.
11 days off, Monday night, 0-8 team, rookie QB, easy, right? Flat, fall behind, 15-0, come back and take the lead. Get int, return it to the 9 yard line. Get only a FG.
Could have finished Bills, could have finished Bucs, failed both.
Similar vs Carolina. We get up on Carolina 13-3, int, return inside 20 just before half, settle on FG. 16-3. Miami goes PREVENT before half, let's Carolina get cheap FG to get back in game. Then, up 16-13, 4th and 10, 80 yards away, give up 1st down, and eventually GW TD.
Blow a 20-3 lead AT New England.
Then of course, last 2 vs Bill's-Jets.
All these games, we led. Crap Oline, no run game, no help from rookies, injuries to Keller-Gibson-Patterson, we won 8, and led in like 6 others. Coaching KILLED US. Unprepared after bye. Unprepared after 11 day break. Horrible adjust vs NE and Carolina. Playcalling vs TB and Buffalo.
And then laid eggs last two games.
