Exactly. Dude was hyped/treated better than anyone in the NFL up until the game against Philly. Honestly, the media in general likes to hype people up and then tear them down when they're struggling. So miss me, with that "he's black so people trash him" mess. Dude brought most of this on himself.

I don't think Cam brought that on himself at all. Putting a towel over his head, which he'd done his entire playing career, got blown up into some kind of body language scandal.

These young black QBs can't get away with the slightest mistake while they're trying to learn and grow in the league.

Also, I'm all for the phrase that I made famous on here "just give a black man a chance".  It's not like I'm saying the Diplomats should get rid of RGIII or anything of the sort.  I just wouldn't want to see him burn any bridges in the process of him being or becoming a great QB. 


 

I do at times think black athletes, more specifically QB's get treated unfairly in the media.  However, in this particular situation I personally do not think that is the case, just my opinion.  Let me just say this, and this statement doesn't just apply to RGIII but anybody else in life for that matter......."sometimes perception is reality"  With that being said during the off-season RGIII is going to have to take a good look in the mirror and ask himself how and why this "perception" of him is out there.  If and once he does that, and more importantly addresses it maybe, just maybe his troubles will be washed away.

I don't think he's an exception to the rule, personally. Some of the criticism is just, and others (cornball brother) is COMPLETELY irrelevant and character assassination, IMO. Despite what you or others may think of him, he does fall under the black QB umbrella. And that umbrella has men who have seen an extreme double-standard as far as how they are viewed and critiqued compared to their peers.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
 
Dalton basically just took no responsibility for the loss that was completely his fault.
 
the only black qb that didnt deserve the criticism was donovan mcnabb, he made noise in the playoffs and also took the eagles to a super bowl. IMO mcnabb was the best black qb too play this game year to date, and he put up with a lot of bs from media and teammates and never once went out publicly and defended himself, ,mcnabb was a beast in his prime.

McNabb definitely took a lot of crap he didn't deserve.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson says he'll be worth his scheduled $8 million salary in 2014 if the team just uses him properly.

"No disrespect, I love Tennessee and would love to be in Tennessee," Johnson told The Tennessean. "But I feel like I am wasting the prime years of my career if I am not used right. You feel me? It is crazy to look at backs around the league and see the opportunities they have."

Johnson, who had 358 carries when he rushed for a franchise-record 2,006 yards in 2009, ran just 279 times for 1,077 yards -- the second-lowest total of his six-year career -- this season.

The 279 carries marked Johnson's highest single-season total in his three seasons under coach Mike Munchak, who was fired Saturday. Johnson had more than 300 carries in each of the previous two seasons before Munchak was hired.

"I am not a coach, and I am not a GM," Johnson told The Tennessean. "But if I am paying a player to make him the top-paid guy on the team, there is no way in critical situations that he is going to be on the sideline. Around the goal line, I'd come out."

Last spring, the Titans signed a bigger veteran back, Shonn Greene, to take on part of Johnson's workload.

Johnson told the Tennessean that he has not requested a trade, although the three-time Pro Bowler acknowledged he wouldn't mind going to a team that would give him a larger offensive role.

"I feel like if they are not going to use me the way I am supposed to be used and let me be the horse, then I would rather them let me move on," the 28-year-old Johnson told the paper. "Their money would be wasted on me. I feel like if they are not going to use me right, let somebody get me that's going to use me the right way."

The Titans' plan this season was for Greene to get the bulk of the short-yardage and goal-line carries. But Greene suffered an injury in the season opener, missed six games and wasn't himself after he returned from knee surgery.

"I want to help the team win," Johnson told the paper. "People say, 'He is not worth the $10 million, he is not worth the $8 million.' I feel like if you give me $8 million, let me earn it.

I wouldn't go that far champ.  This is the same McNabb that went out and defended himself to the media saying that the situation with him and T.O. was like black on black crime, SMH.  He had alot to say on the matter then and let his voice be heard for all to hear.  Keep in mind, this is the same McNabb that just a year or so prior had absolutely NOTHING to say when Rush Limbaugh had negatives things to say about him and McNabb kept just as quiet as a little church mouse.  With that being said as far as I'm concerned, McNabb is and will always fall under the "scared black man syndrome" because a real "beast", goes up against those that are going against them but that's for another conversation.

Dalton also sucks though. Everyone listening to the press conference laughed or rolled their eyes then changed the channel. We did that because we know he's never been or going to be the guy that leads a team to the Super Bowl. We don't limit those expectations for guys like Cam and such. What Dalton did pretty much sealed everyone's thoughts on his fate. He's a bum.

If Cam says that then you damn right I'd be more upset because I think he can be truly great and a cop out like that isn't the righ mindset you want from greatness.

when i said beast i was refferring to his play on the field in his prime, dudes not scared he was just smarter then the other black qbs and knew when to keep his mouth shut. being loud and obnoxious doesnt make you a beast it makes you look like a fool...

"A Wise man told me don't argue with fools".

Rush would of won had Mcnabb gave him the time of day. Mcnabb played rush in the most G way possible. Told him pardon my back, nd kept on pushing.


Personally, I gained a lot of respect for Mcnabb how he handled that.
 
They said Chris Johnson will probably be cut. I don't think he's worth 8 mil and I think his best days are behind him.
