im i the only one who hates to see Oakland draft in the 15? bc a good player is gonna go out there and disappear, would hate to see Sammy get lost in the black hole.
Let us be great......again
Lets start with the basics first champ, and then go up from there.  I say hope for a 5 win season next year, then wait another 4 years or so, hope for a 10 win season after that..........wait another 4 years or so and then hope for a playoff birth.  Just like that before you know it, in another 10-15 years, Oakland can finally be great.

Those Cleveland tourism videos are always a favorite

Pres is a biblical beast man.

Looking like Napoleon Dynamite's uncle in that other video up there though.

Throw him in that front 7 for Cleveland too!

I think the raiders have a lot of positives:

-almost 60mill in salary cap space
-a decent secondary. I haven't given up hope on dj haden (unfortunately play in a division with manning and rivers)
-getting rid of that bust DMC hopefully soon

mckenzie has been far from a genius as a GM, and I dont know why mark davis sticks with him. I think dennis allen is a good coach, raiders just haven't had luck with personnel. seems like a majority of the raiders' starters on both sides of the ball were injured throughout the season. they're a WR+offensive/defensive line+mcgloin for a full season away from being at least an 7-8 win team. it looks like I'm joking, but I think they'll be able to piece those together with this much money freed up. gonna be tough, but if they can .500 football against the afcw, they should be in decent shape against the bottom feeders of the afc. I think they should stick with mcgloin and give him a surehanded, go to WR. streeter has been decent. this team lost two or three close games this season (colts and chiefs in kc). this is not to slight TP2, but I think with mcgloin in, raiders win those games.

but what bugs the hell out of me is that this team is so damn inconsistent..frustrates me to see a hometown team be such a disgrace.

I've said this before and I'll say it again..I'm not a raiders fan so I might be way out of my element

Funny thing is you might be right.

I think the raiders have a lot of positives:

-almost 60mill in salary cap space Cares?  Who is going to sign with the Raiders, in spite of their large amounts of money to spend?
-a decent secondary. I haven't given up hope of dj haden (unfortunately play in a division with manning and rivers) Decent is being extremely kind.
-getting rid of that bust DMC hopefully soon Getting rid of DMC isn't necessarily a positive.  He is easily the Raiders best player if healthy.  Obviously he cant stay healthy.  But simply removing him from this roster is not going to help if he isnt replaced by someone good....which I dont see happening (see my response to your first bullet point).

mckenzie has been far from a genius as a GM, and I dont know why mark davis sticks with him. I think dennis allen is a good coach how do you know this?, raiders just haven't had luck with personnel. seems like a majority of the raiders' starters on both sides of the ball were injured throughout the season. they're a WR+offensive/defensive line+mcgloin for a full season away from being at least an 7-8 win team so let me get this straight.  They need an entire new offensive line AND an entire new defensive line (where games are won), for them to be roughly a .500 team? lol. it looks like I'm joking, but I think they'll be able to piece those together with this much money freed up. gonna be tough, but if they can .500 football against the afcw, they should be in decent shape against the bottom feeders of the afc.  you seriously see this team splitting all three of the season series with Denver, San Diego and Kansas City? lol.  All three of those teams are in exponentially better shape than Oakland.  Id be shocked if Oakland wins ONE game against these teams in the foreseeable future.

not even a raiders' fan but what bugs the hell out of me is that this team is so damn inconsistent..frustrates me to see a hometown team be such a disgrace.  Inconsistent?  No.  This team is really, really consistent.  One of the most consistent teams in the NFL.  Especially recently.  They are consistently one of the worst teams in football, and its been that way for about a decade now.
See the bolded in your post.

9ers fans all high and mighty like their team wasn't garbage for the better part of the last decade.

Raiders are rebuilding.  Their owner was insane and did stupid things.  McKenzie did a good job of rebuilding their cap.  It remains to be seen if he can actually find good players now, but there's no reason to think that they can't contend in 3 years if they draft well and use that space well.

We were a black hole for players in AL's final years but c'mon it's a totally different front office now! Those days are done

I agree that it's tough to imagine which players would want to sign with the raiders given their current state, but I imagine money is way more of an influence than signing to a winning team (we saw it firsthand with Dashon Goldson)

in regards to dmc, indeed their best player when healthy but I would never hold my breath on dmc playing a 16 game season, let alone a 12 game season. rashad jennings and reece should have been starters from game 1 of the season. I'd hate to be in an offense where you have a carousel at starting rb.

the raiders' o-line was terrible this season, but there aren't too many lines that can play well without two starters. that d-line on the other hand has no excuse for its putrid play. if I were a raider fan, I'd pray that the texans pass on clowney in favor of a qb.

and yeah, I can honestly see the raiders going 3-3 in the afcw (okay, maybe 2-4 because of the broncos) mainly because of the cliche of playing your division rivals better.

I mean the chargers and chiefs were playing raider-like football just a season ago and became playoff teams this year. granted they are far better at qb than the raiders are

child, please. if the seahawks didnt play in the nfcw for the past decade, the 12th man wouldve been in the cellar just as much as us.

I rarely use this saying mainly because I don't know how to use it appropriately but I know I cant go wrong. seahawks fans trying to imply that niners' fans have selective memory is some "pot calling the kettle black" type ****

but whatever, three straight NFCC for the niners...I aint worried about this sunday.

So if ya'll did it, why can't the Raiders?

I just don't like when folks throw shots at my Raiders. That Madden team carried me to more wins than I can count.

When the new regime came in after Al Davis they had to deal with a ton of issues. Terrible contracts, terrible salary cap situation and little to no talent. The first year of the regime was guaranteed to be a wash just to clean things up and cut the fat.

Now the Raiders sit on the most cap space with a united GM and coaching staff that can recruit on the premise that the team is fully committed to doing things the right way. They can finally begin to plug in talent that they've wanted to and not be saddled with the waste that Al Davis chose.

did you not read what I had to say about the raiders?

in any case, I just finished typing about the raiders' season. I better get my zoloft pills ready.

My comment in context was to dland saying the raiders are a miserable and hopeless organization.

any team can be turned around in less than 5 years with Good Drafts & smart FA signings
