8 AFC title games in 14 years, with great defenses, terrible defenses, great run games, terrible run games, scrub receivers, great receivers, the only constants are Tom, and Bill.

But some have him only among the top 6-10 all time?

Must be some HIGH standards for those top 5's.

Steve Young 0-3, Montana 1-3 and Garcia 0-2 on the road in the playoffs. Kaep is 3-0. Interesting stat.

So silly.  Anyone who puts Peyton over Brady is just living on a different planet from mine.

Some of the best weapons in the league every year he's been in the league vs. a rotating cast of good players and scrubs.

5 Super Bowl trips w/ 3 wins vs. 2 Super Bowl trips w/ 1 win.

Hmmm.........

We live on different planets. They're both winners but Peyton is the most amazing QB you will ever see play. Most coaches and players will tell you the same. There's no one that knows the game or will play the game like Peyton. We can talk about rings, playoffs and regular season games but Peyton is something special.

It's the Marino argument. Just depends on how heavy you weigh team success as a variable. Not outlandish to say either is better than the other

 At anyone who doesn't put Brady in the top 5. There is no way you can name 5 guys you would take before him. You are lying to yourself if you do.

If he wins with this scrub as team, he is the GOAT imo.

He isn't playing with scrubs. He has scrub receivers and a great oline and a good defense. He can knit sweaters back there in the pocket. He's never really played on scrub teams in his career.

I would still agree that he is top 5 regardless of what happens this year, but definitely not #1.

BTW, what happened to all those people that were saying Brett Favre was the greatest ever like 5 years ago.

Yeah, when you're at that level of greatness, to me, stacking up these regular season explosions stops being as important.  We know (I know) Brady is capable of putting up the same level of numbers if his entire team was built around giving him skill position talent, as Peyton's have been.  The wins can't just be discounted.  3 Super Bowls is very, very special.  One is nice.

I guess we live on different planets then fam. On the planet I live on Richard Seymour, Ty Warren, Vince Wilfork, Teddy Bruschi, Rodney Harrison, Willie McGinest, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, Terrell Buckley and the ref that blew the call against the Raiders all say hello. All these guys played defense for your man Tom and all but maybe 2 are going to be Hall of Famers.

If the Pats win the Superbowl, I don't even see how it's debatable if Brady is top 3 or not. Along with Belichick, Brady would be #1 imo if they get #4.

I don't remember saying Brady played on bad teams his whole career or anything so I don't know what you are getting at....

I said Peyton has had elite skill position players his whole career and Brady has had a mix.

All time top 5.

1.) Unitas
2.) Montana
3.) Peyton (just saying because that was my qb word to T.O. for all those years and in reality you can put Brady at 3 and I wont argue)
4.) Brady
5.) Elway (getting to the SB three times with those teams was crazy. Dude really put the team on his shoulders. But he finally got his rings when all the talent was there)

Tom Brady absolutely has the better Post-season resume than Manning. It's actually quite remarkable that Peyton doesn't have at least 2 Super Bowl rings. It's really going to be interesting how the public examines his complete body of work when he decides to step away from football. Especially if he doesn't win another Super Bowl.

I think Peyton feels the pressure about this issue way more than he'd like us to believe. If he does retire without winning another Super Bowl, that will deservedly warrant people to think he underachieved in his career, especially considering the teams he's had his entire career. With all that being said, I still think Peyton Manning is one of the top 3-5 greatest QB's to have ever played football.

Football is not an offense only game. You brought up rings so I listed for you why Tom Brady has 3 rings. He has played along side some of the best defenders in NFL history. People like you never mention this though. You think the Pat's the greatest show on turf because of Tom Brady

. Nah son they won because the Pat's defense held one of the best offenses the league has ever seen to 17 points.
