Not having Gronk kills the Patriots. I worry about their ability to score in the redzone from the 5 on out. No one can really attack the middle of the field on that team, which is where you'll find a lot of scores if you don't have that star 1 on 1 receiver for jump balls, which NE doesn't have...Nothing consistently, at least.

drinking some brewskis today. thinking about tomorrows game. my body isnt ready. dont know what denver defense will show up. damn this wait. hopefully they show up and the broncos beat the sith lord hoody and darth brady :\

the build up this game has been brutal, man. i'm with you, let's get this thing kicked off already

I'm speaking on the results of Pats/Broncos since a lot of folks seem to think it's a "legacy defining" game or whatever.
Is it not though?

We're talking about two all timers in the twilight of their careers.  While some of the arguments that go down in here have all kinds of logic (and I use that term very loosely) tossed around and are usually chock full of fallacies/cognitive bias, it's hard to ignore that this game, as well as this SB, has implications on where these guys will eventually be viewed in the pantheon of QBs.

yeah that's what i'm worried about. if we go down a couple scores...can we throw with no gronk and possibly with no outside WRs. it's basically edelman, amendola, and collie right now. the rookies are both questionable so who knows what we'll get from them.

it's legacy defining for manning. brady's legacy isn't on the line at all tomorrow.

I agree with you. I was just trying to rationalize that particular line of thinking. I've seen some people state that if Manning were to win it all this year they'd give him a slight edge over Brady so that's why I phrased it so broadly.

but its also legacy defining for brady. (with a superbowl win) spygate is taken down a notch. he would have been to 6 sb with 4 wins. belicheck might be given GOAT coach tag. this has big legacy alteration for the brady/hoody as well.

I just want to chime in and say this. An aged Champ, Q.Jammer, and no Von Miller??? Tom Brady should be licking his chops. (Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie is the ONLY player in the Broncos secondary who can save them). Tom Brady just has that unique ability to play-up in big games. Manning of course will do his thing but, I just have a GUT feeling that Denvers back end on Defense will get exposed. It's just too obvious. This game is going to be epic. I love both of these guy's game but, again, Peyton's defensive counterparts are going to be in trouble tomorrow.

yeah i mean i think it's more, manning has more to lose tomorrow from a legacy standpoint. brady can enhance his, but his doesn't dwindle at all if he were to lose this one. for manning, his can shrink or grow (that's what she said) depending on what happens

EDIT: and i think it's because of the team that NE has gotten to this point with. they've overachieved to this point like crazy

ive been saying this all year and have been emphasizing this the last couple of weeks or so :smh: . i preached health all year and not only the broncos but the pats have had huge injuries. damn it all.

let me put an end to this discussion really quick, peyton goes out and wins the super bowl this year he will no doubt be the GOAT, no starting qb has ever won 2 super bowls with 2 different teams.

not sure how that makes someone the GOAT...but everyone is entitled to their own criteria for what makes someone great.

Losing Harris Jr. was a huge blow that can't be understated considering he played the most snaps on defense this season.

A lot of people overlook how much injuries caused the precipitous drop from a top 5 defense last season to an incredibly mediocre one this season. Last year the defense had 8 defensive players on the field for more than 900 snaps; this year only two guys (Harris Jr. and Trevathan) played more than 800 snaps. The lack of depth has really hindered JDR and his propensity to create favorable matchups for guys.

i think they might be putting champ on the outside again if jammer gets burned. i know champ has one good run left in him. i want that guy to win a superbowl so bad. maybe more than peyton. win one for champ.

and peyton.

Tomorrows game should be interesting... Pretty nervous. This injury is what has me worried.

I know I said it earlier in the week in here but I DO NOT want to see Champ on Edelman. Let him cover Amendola or Dobson/Thompkins.

Hoping Dobson comes back at somewhat full strength tomorrow, we need that deep threat in there, I'm just hoping that it won't be one of those games again where we're down by 28 and got me catching feels by half

, I don't expect this game this time around to be high scoring

I do.  Both these defenses are ravaged by injury.

I guess it wouldn't shock me if both teams went run heavy, though.
