Even though he was deactivated, it appears that RGIII was still putting in work............

Once I saw Sally Jenkins name at the top of the piece I stopped reading. And hearing Stephen A. and Skip Bayless refer to her word as the "gospel" makes what they say on First Take much more understandable. These guys believe anything.

 at the Washington Post being a credible sports source, they're still mad at Snyder for limiting their coverage on the team.

Once I heard Sally Jenkins wrote this piece I knew it was garbage. She, and the rest of the Washington Post, have an agenda against the ******** unless they're doing well. This is the same lady that defended Lance Armstrong and Joe Paterno to no end.
Yup. Gotta take things with a grain of salt when it comes to Jenkins. After any one of her articles (regardless of subject), look through the comments. She's routinely taken to task. The fact she has NO sources in the article should be telling.

Heard something funny the other day when listening to the Junkies. One of them suggested that Dan Snyder hire one of the Code Talkers or Lou Diamond Phillips to coach next year

Do you honestly believe what you just typed??

Certain sources don't want to be cited by name for obvious reasons, that is nothing new.

lmao at skip saying he put his rep on the line for rg3, someone tell skip his reputation is straight trash and always has been. as far as the story goes rg3 has a bigger ego then any qb who as ever played this game and needs to ****, i dont need any real proof this happened because this is something that this guy would do...

Are you not familiar w/ Sally Jenkins? Anyone else, I might give a little credence to...her...nah.

With all fairness.

EVERY negative rg3 story as been debunked for one reason or another by NT skins fans.

At some point sumn has gotta be true right?? Where there's smoke there's fire.

Every story? Nah.

The one here by Jenkins (who has a shady history) with no sources? Yup.

Also...for all the negative press that's leaking, what sense does it make for RG3 to have been voted captain by his peers and also winning the Ed Block Courage award?

I am in no way saying he's a choir boy because he does have his warts...but a lot of these stories written about him and the team are one-sided and often ridiculous.

ugh .

theyve both shown stretches of greatness this season . only time will tell if one separates themselves from the other

I was listening to them saying that yesterday as well

Saying the Dipset's next coach should be of Native American decent to troll everyone. Those guys are wild man

Him and Snyder being butt buddies is definitely true, but a lot of this stuff is made up. And not every story has been debunked, I ignore most of 'em anyway because nobody really knows what the truth is. I only comment on the asinine ones like this.

Yeah, Sally Jenkins hasn't stepped foot in the FedEx Field locker room in over a decade and lives in NYC... yet, somehow, she has an idea of what is happening in DC and inside the locker room. The only person who has run with this story is Florio, even the other beat writers around the city are laughing at Jenkins.

Sally Jenkins is a Mike Shanahan mouthpiece (read Mike Shanahan is her "source"), just like Schefter.

So like people have said, take what these people say with a grain of salt.

I am somewhat. What about Sally Jenkins makes her unfit to speak or write on any matters pertaining the Diplomats specifically??
Also...for all the negative press that's leaking, what sense does it make for RG3 to have been voted captain by his peers and also winning the Ed Block Courage award?
At what point in time do you and others that are siding with RGIII at least ask yourselves with all the negative stories coming out about RGIII, why would the press, teammates, or others for that matter just come out negatively against RGIII for no reason at all?

As far as RGIII being voted captain, what NFL team wouldn't or doesn't have their starting QB as their captain, that might have happened in Tampa Bay this year but we see what happened with Josh Freeman shortly thereafter.  Also, the Ed Block Courage award goes to the player on that team that overcame the most ADVERSITY.  Yeah RGIII overcame alot of adversity in the off-season but that's about it as far as that award is concerned.
Yeah, Sally Jenkins hasn't stepped foot in the FedEx Field locker room in over a decade and lives in NYC... yet, somehow, she has an idea of what is happening in DC and inside the locker room
People have access to the telephone, e-mail, faxes, and text messages nowadays champ.  There's more than one way to stay in touch with what's going on in the streets, or in this case........the locker room.

Edit--

Also, you wanna talk about awards @DoubleJs07 I got one for you right here as it pertains to Sally Jenkins champ..........

"She was named the nation’s top sports columnist in 2003 and 2010 by the Associated Press Sports Editors."

True, that statement looks pretty dumb now. However, if you look through her body of work it's clear that she has an agenda out for RG3/Snyder and has a soft spot for Shanahan.

Google Sally Jenkins and Lance Armstrong.

Google Sally Jenkins and Joe Paterno.

Like i said, take what she says with a grain of salt when it comes to her and the football team from Washington.

Doesnt mean she's not a credible writer, but she has been WRONG before despite her "credentials."

Of yeah she and just about anybody else can be wrong.  That's not the point I'm trying to make here, this isn't about Sally Jenkins.  She's not on trial here, RGIII is.  It's about the many upon many reports that point RGIII being a problem for the Diplomats, particularly in the locker room.  So you, I, and others have to ask the question, how can this many people be wrong about , just 1 individual.  That's all I want people to think about.

This story just doesn't seem real, can't imagine a NFL player actually bragging about something like that. And from what I've seen over the years I wouldn't trust many Sally/******** story's either. So I agree with the Skins fans on this particular case.

But it's not just Sally saying these things tho, it's literally almost the entire press nationwide . Don't know why people are acting like everyone in the media just woke up one day and decided to bash RG3. Not saying all of the stories are true, but RG3 supporters pass off every single one as the media just hating. With RG3's Heisman comment, operation patience, comments from Garcon/Santana, etc, it's not hard to believe some of these stories, most of these stories might be true.

Oh, that completely changes things. Dan Shaughnessy was #2 on the list in 2011. What a prestigious award.
Packers Receiver James Jones Will Test Free Agency in 2014
Tom Lynn

The Packers' second-leading receiver in 2013 is ready to see what other NFL teams think of him this off-season.

The Packers  can be assured that at least one starter who is approaching free agency will be testing the market for his services. Wideout James Jones, who set a career-high in receiving yards this season, will wait until March to see what teams think of him, according to the Journal-Sentinel's Tyler Dunne.

Jones apparently does not have a firm idea of what type of contract he is looking for, as this comment to Dunne indicates:
Jones: "I’m not one of those guys who goes home and says I’m worth 30, 40 million. We’ll see what happens when the market comes." #packers
— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) January 6, 2014
The last time Jones hit the open market was after the Packers' Super Bowl  run in 2010. Jones found the market very soft for a receiver who had not exceeded 50 receptions, 700 yards, or 5 touchdowns in a season and was perceived to have an issue with drops. Instead of signing elsewhere, Jones waited until just before training camp to  sign a three-year deal with Green Bay in 2011, and he became a steady (albeit not flashy) starter since then.

Jones' single-season highs can be found below, and his highs in all categories have come under that three-year contract. In fact, Jones led the league in receiving touchdowns in 2012.

CategoryCareer HighSeason

Starts152012

Receptions642012

Yards8172013

Yards per reception16.72011

Touchdowns142012

Jones made $3.25 million in 2013 in the last year of that three-year contract. In the coming months, we'll see what interest a solid #2 receiver draws around the league.

Also worth noting in Dunne's first tweet is that starting center Evan Dietrich-Smith  is also poised to test the free agent market after re-signing with the Packers as a restricted free agent in 2013.

Apparently hes been playing with broken ribs since the Steelers game.

I could see the Giants giving him a look if they let Nicks walk which seems likely to happen... They'll be left with 3 guys that are best suited for the slot... JJ predominantly on the outside.

No one is saying RGIII is blame-free here. He needs to mature alot this offseason. He also needs to improve as a QB.

But it's funny the kind of character assassination he has been receiving these past few weeks as Mike Shanahan's job was on the line. What better way to screw the team that fired you than to bash the franchise QB on your way out :smh:

It's pretty easy to decipher, Mike Shanahan picks up the phone and gives these writers his side of the story. They run with it because after all he is an "insider" and boom. A report of RGIII and Snyder's relationship comes out on a GAMEDAY. THe next week, another report comes out hours before another game. You think that's coming from a teammate or assistant coach? I don't think so.

Giants aren't picking up James Jones. We don't like to pay players and we won't pay him much. Unless no one else offers him anything else which I doubt.

He wont cost nearly as much as Nicks but brings some similar things to the table.

Sidebar - There was a NYG blogger/writer/whatever on the radio the other day that said hed take a 75% Decker over a 100% Nicks any day of the week.
