Man of Steel (Superman Movie Thread) - June 14, 2013 - NEW Trailer pg20

There has been a lot of bigger threats that Superman can't handle, there are always invading armies and Superman can't be in all places at once. JLA has also become somewhat of a council, Supermans boy scout ways are debated at times. Superman is also vulnerable to plenty of things so he isn't always the most reliable. At the end of the day, it is what the write decides it to be. If he wants Superman to be able to multiply and have a Superman in every city, the writer certainly can do that. It's all about good writing and convincing you that the threat needs a team to be dealt with.

And bats has always been somewhat of an outcast in the group. Heck he even deviced plans to beat everyone in case they go rogue. And Bats hasn't always been isolated, don't let the Nolanverse fool you. He has a huge family behind him. Nightwing, Robin (Tim Drake & Damian Wayne), Batgirl, Batwoman, Huntress, Alfred, Red Hood (depending on the arc), etc... He isn't the loaner that most think he is. Hell he has teamed up with Superman plenty of time outside of the JLA.

And Batman wore underwear outside his costume too.

I'm familiar with the extended family. The **** Grayson's , Jason Todd's, Damien Wayne's, Barbara Gordon's. and I just watched justice league doom the other day (1 of DC's better animated films). I think my bias comes from my childhood. I've always been more drawn to Marvel stories and the way they're interpreted. The DC heroes just felt to righteous and they're stories were always somewhat ho hum to me (blackest night gets a pass though). I just never got some of DC's team up and crossovers. I always felt like "Superman doesn't need them" and "aquaman is useless to any team that isn't on a deep sea rescue mission"

- DC owns Marvel when it comes to animated films. You should watch more of their offerings.
- You said it yourself, your biased with Marvel and the Avengers to some extent. That's why you can't understand JL.
- Superman does need help at times. I'd suggest reading "For the Man Who Has Everything"
- Aquaman has been a joke for the longest time. But you can try and read his current monthly series by Geoff Johns. Dude definitely redeemed the character.

Completely understandable, it's also the main reason Superman gets a lot of hate, he has a big arsenal of powers and pre-crisis Superman was damn near unstoppable. They have scaled him down a bit, gave him weaknesses and vulnerabilities but most who doesn't really follow the comics or if you are a kid growing, you just see Superman as this super powerful being and felt that he just couldn't lose.

As for Aquaman, dude is pretty strong and could go hand to hand with the best of them but the writers themselves has made a joke of him so the public really had no other choice but to poke fun at him too. Just sad really because he really isn't just about talking with fishes.

Im so glad the trailer doesnt show any fight footage between Zod and Supes. Always felt that took away from the potential of films.

can u give me a quick synopsis of that story

Imagine a movie of these two just fighting :wow:

Batman with the prep time though :smh:
naw a movie with doomsday and batman
actually i would prefer superman vs darseid cause darkseid would be talking that arrogant **** the whole time plus those omega beams or whatever his eye lazer thing is called would look dope on the screen. just all that damage they could do

Amy Adams is attractive and an incredible actress. I can't argue whether or not she'll be a good Lois without seeing it and because I'm not as knowledgeable about the comics as others... but you could do FAR worse than Amy Adams.

I just think Adams will come off as too old when paired with Cavill

That was my biggest concern. She's very easy on the eyes, but just "old" looking. For what I think Lois Lane should look like in a movie-verse, especially if it's the start of one where shell be recurring the role every few years.

And HV was shown in one of the magazines last month
