Detroit Free Press -
The Celtics made quite a show of their win over the Pistons in Detroit on Saturday night, with Paul Pierce yelling that the Celtics are the best team in the league, with several Celtics "popping" their jerseys, and, according to an ESPN.com report, with forward James Posey yelling to courtside fans, "Thanks for coming" and a mocking "Deeeee-troit basketball."

In the Pistons' locker room, that display was met with some smirks.

"They're acting like they won the title," forward Amir Johnson said.

Point guard Chauncey Billups took it one step further.

"They're a little more happy than I know we were when we won our game out there," Billups said. "It was just like a regular game for us with two good teams playing. They were kind of playing like it's the Super Bowl, man."

"It's just a regular game with two good teams playing. There was probably a little more at stake for them and their psyche than there was for us. But they won. It's cool." [READ]

I'd brow beat the Pistons too if I won a game at the Palace. That place is the most annoying arena in the NBA with that whistle, the fire, the sillyannouncer and that god awful "makes the ABC %!!%$ Cat Dolls song sound like Marvin Gaye" Deeee-troit basketball call.

When did Amir Johnson start speaking for these Pistons?

I cant believe the Pistons would be crying over something like that. Who cares.

Doesn't sound like they are crying. Sounds like they are telling the truth. The pistons have been there done that. Nobody on that celtics roster (expectfor posey) has won a chip. The only thing I hate about the nba is none of these game really matter untill march april and may.

Truth.

Ain't no crying going on....

some reporter probably asked them what they think about the C's celebrating or doing what they did .. they just answered with an honest answer ..

who cares though.. its 3 guys who is not use to winning and finally they get a chance and this might be their only year that they have a chance to win theChampionship.

You're crazy if you think winning on the road against playoff contenders doesn't matter because it's not March or April.

The Pisstons are a different animal in the playoffs and we all know that KG is not a big time playoff guy. I think the Pisstons will beat them if the meet inthe ECF. And I HATE the Pisstons.

ha i laughed at the title and then realized that the Celtics have won both meetings. the pistons are good just they dont compare.

And after reading this post you'll realize the Celtics were beaten at home by the Pistons.

wow. i dont remember the exact stats but KG had like 32 points 17 boards and 7 assists in game 7 against the kings in 04. you cant tell me hes not a bigplayoff guy. he may not get far but he is a killer when it matters

Best team in the league? This team hasn't even faced the dominant teams in the West.

When they have a season sweep of the Suns, Spurs, or I guess Dallas then they might be saying something.

Do they realize how easy their schedule has been?

Why is this their only year? Will KG retire at 32 years old? Will they trade him back for Al Jefferson?

They haven't played us yet either. Do you realize how hard it is to go 29-3 regardless of schedule? they can only face who is given tothem, and they have beaten EVERY SINGLE team on their schedule so far. If that doesn't impress you nothing will.

I wasn't trying to take anything away from them, its just the fact that Pierce can actually believe they are the best team and they haven't facedall the best teams in the league.

I see where you're coming from and you do have validity. But its hard not to think they're the best the way they've been beating downteams. Thats all I'm saying.
